Like i said earlier if u wanna mock a steroid using punk during the game then be my guest do it all game long BUT dont do it after the game after a very emotional game midfield on the other teams homefield. It shows a total lack of respect for the entire team NOT just merriman

Diddnt the Chargers make a big scene when they beat NE last year?

Wow. Do you people read? I gave an example of a similar scenario in Irvin's case. I mentioned the reaction to TO's incident as an example of the reaction I would expect from Cowboys fans if that similar situation happened. And you guys are going off on tangents saying things like, "well, it's not the same thing because it's the star" and blah blah blah. I DON'T BELIEVE YOU. The situation is completely analagous.

How is that different than the entire Pats players rubbing in the Merriman dance at midfield on their logo as LT put it, in their house, in front of the opposing team's bench?

Here is the way I see it. Just maybe Merriman and company display a lack of class when they do the "lights out" or whatever that "Bull" thing is when they go and kick their feet like they are a bull getting ready to go gore someone.

In the end, I would think a lot more highly of Tomlinson if he was upset at his own team for losing as opposed to whinning about class. How about he show some class. Who cares what the other team did, he lost. That is what should bother him.

I did not like when the Giants were doing there ballin crap. They went on to beat the crap out of us. My first reaction was not to say "them classless Giants". I was much more ticked that the Cowboys lost.

Sure, it would be nice if players in general quit celebrating after every tackle, first down, INT, TD and etc. No team is innocent. Not a single one.

You are avoiding what I am saying.

The Pats mocked an individual... not a team.

TO mocked a team... NOT an individual.

Mocking an entire team is uncalled for... as for individual... if they cant handle what they throw out then dont throw stuff.

No I'm not. I know exactly what you're saying. But I don't believe that they just mocked an individual. And neither does LT, and other players in the organization - why scream "Lights Out" into the opposing team's lockerroom as well way after the game is over - otherwise he, and other team members wouldn't have put it in the terms that they did.

An example of mocking a team is what TO did when he stood on the star...

Why? Every player on that team wears that logo and represents it... when a player stomps on that logo it affects everyone wearing that logo.

Another example... the punks at Da U. Before games they will stomp on the home teams' logo with helmets raised.

Mocking the Lights Out dance is mocking the player who calls himself Lights out.

LT can defend his teammates but in this case he needed to mentor Merriman on how to act like a professioanl.

CHARGERS HAVE A SHORT MEMORY
Amid complaints from running back LaDainian Tomlinson and other members of the San Diego Chargers that the New England Patriots celebrated too fervently their unlikely victory over the 14-2 Bolts on Sunday, we've been reminded of the Chargers reaction to a similarly unlikely win from a year ago.
In New England.
After thumping the Pats by the score of 41-17 and shattering the team's 21-game home winning streak, the Chargers were not exactly humble.
"That's a [butt]-whipping," said defensive coordinator Wade Phillips in an article penned by Tom Curran, who at the time wrote for the Providence Journal and who now works for NBCSports.com.
Cornerback Drayton Florence (or is it Florence Drayton?) was less tactful: "F--k New England and their team," he said, before turning to a "collection of onlookers" and adding: "Get the look of shock off your faces. Don't be shocked. We beat your [butt]."
So, you know, maybe a few of the Pats were remembering the way that the Chargers handled themselves in 2005.

And Merriman gave them more bulletin board material with his interview during the Jets/Patriots game.

Despite what a very small minority believe, LT was just a sore loser yesterday.

LT is a great guy... he let his emotions get the best of him.... he is a victim of MartyBall and Brady... hope he gets SB one day... good kid
You are spot on, but let me add to that... he is a victim AND a benefiter of Marty ball. LT gets more carries than most, which gives him more chances than most to get TDs and big games. I love LT, I have since he joined the league. He might be the first player I'd select if all active players were available to me.

If their was a scoreboard keeping track of who showed less class I would say the Chargers showed less class though. :laugh1:

Only because of what happened last year... the Merriman talk... his dance after non-impact plays... the 2 Charger personal fouls...

But yes... I would have rather saw the Patriots handle the END GAME differently.

They should have act as if (since they have) they have been there, done that before.

True... and it speaks to the athlete of this day and age. Show them up, laugh in their face, make fun of them...

When I was growing up, the best award you could get was the Sportsmanship Award. There aren't enough players in professional sports to vye for such an award today...

It's sad really...

Agreed man its really sad. i miss players like David Robinson, Jordan (although he always won so who knows how it would have been if he hadnt won so much :D ), emmitt, troy, Magic, etc. they were great players that not only beat you but they did it with class as well...

I am not attacking the Charger fans in their defending their players and their "house" but shouldnt they look themselves in the mirror?

I am talking about the lack of class the Charger players also showed on the field.

Florence head butted a Patriot... Merriman doing his Lights Out dance off a pressure/hit... blah blah blah.

EDIT: And also the late hit (shove in the back) after a PAT.

Personally, I am sick of the Pats and Tom Brady. I am just not a fan of the Brady Bunch and I wish they would have lost.

Have not posted here in a while. But, this is all bull.

Let's see you boast, you jump around, play a dance. You are the boss, I am the boss.

You think you are going to destroy your opponent and you make it known.

OK, fine. That is OK.

Guess what San Diego, you just lost. And when you do and the Pats are tired of the dance, you give them a little back.

So, then you are classless. Sorry.

Just like kids, you kick because you can. But if gee all of a sudden the little guy kicks back you whine. Oh, whine, whine.

Sorry, you reap what you sow.

The Pats are the class of the league.

Sorry San Diego, get over it. Next time you think you can speak before you act, think about it. Make your statements on the field , not off the field.

Did SD have more talent, sure. But the Pats are good in ways they never will be. They are a team.

Get over it.
