Yeah, it is ridiculous. But, it's how he celebrates as an individual.

Let me put it in terms that may be more familiar with you. How would you react if the Pats just beat the 'Boys, and they all started mocking Irvin's "karate chop" first down celebration in front of the 'Boys bench?

Other teams did that all of the time when Irvin was playing. And they still do, even when we're not playing.

Sorry, but I've never heard of group team mocking of Irvin's celebration and I've followed the 'Boys a long time.

LOL. Somehow I just don't believe that. We've all seen the reactions to TO's star incident.

Thats different.

That was very over the top and uncalled for...

If he simply stood on a star in the endzone he scored in, it wouldnt have ended up a late hit by Teague.

I meant they did it after picking up first downs.

Who determines what is "uncalled" for, huh?

Obviously LT thought the Pats celebration was the latter.

A TD celebration taking place at midfield?

The Pats just won a huge playoff game and their sideline cleared... teams always run out onto the field and celebrate.

Well, yeah. If they just celebrated, no one would be talking about it. But, they didn't just celebrate and that's the point.

What are you on? They did just celebrate, they just happened to do the same stupid dance Shawne Merriman used everytime he saw the quarterback in the 2006 regular season.

Cause a couple players taunted Merriman?

Give me a break... if Merriman didnt go on air and say... "I think the Jets are gonna beat the Patriots because they are the better team" in a HALFTIME interview in which the Patriots were BEATING the Jets maybe they wouldnt have rubbed it in his face.

The mocking was directed torwards Merriman... NOT LT. I understand he was defending his teammate but when there is a hothead-show boating clown like "Lights Out" then he better be able to take it.

I would have had more respect for LT going up to Merriman and telling him to show some class.

Instead... he defends some cocky kid who has been in the league for 2 years!

Like I said... the Pats players who celebrated as they did rubbed it in Merriman's face... NOT the entire SD Charger team.

Ok, after every sack, tackle for loss, or TD, did a Dallas Cowboys player run up to the star and stand on it?

No. So you're comparing two totally different things.

Plus TO did it 1st... in our house... on our Star.

Every Dallas Cowboy player wears and respects that Star so TO in turn mocked the entire organization.

What the Pat players did mocked ONE individual who happens to be a young cocky kid who needs to learn how to respect this game.

If LT is POed... he should have taught Merriman a thing about celebrating as a professional.

LT scored 31 total TDs and everytime he high fived his offense and ran off the field. Period.

So dont preach to others LT... preach to within your organization.

Yeah, and I'm sure not so many people would've reacted so hatefully to TO's star incident if one of our players at the time would've constantly spiked the star after every "good" play.

Another thing that bugs me about this is that LT plays with two convicted cheaters on his team. People who have taken performance enhancing drugs to gain an unfair edge in competition and yet the Patriots, who rarely ever have anyone speaking out to the press, or getting arrested ,or testing positive for anything are the team that lacks class?

Manlaw #3002: If, during a sporting contest, you celebrate publicly with an idiotic, annoying dance, gesture, pose, or verbage....the opposition has every right to mock that celebration if they beat you.

If you are annoying and spastic in celebration for mundane plays...don't get upset when a team that beats you does it to mock you....Sorry Steroid boy...

Wow. Do you people read? I gave an example of a similar scenario in Irvin's case. I mentioned the reaction to TO's incident as an example of the reaction I would expect from Cowboys fans if that similar situation happened. And you guys are going off on tangents saying things like, "well, it's not the same thing because it's the star" and blah blah blah. I DON'T BELIEVE YOU. The situation is completely analagous.

How is that different than the entire Pats players rubbing in the Merriman dance at midfield on their logo as LT put it, in their house, in front of the opposing team's bench? And you're fooling yourself if you think that the dance was solely directed at Merriman.

Like i said earlier if u wanna mock a steroid using punk during the game then be my guest do it all game long BUT dont do it after the game after a very emotional game midfield on the other teams homefield. It shows a total lack of respect for the entire team NOT just merriman

You are avoiding what I am saying.

The Pats mocked an individual... not a team.

TO mocked a team... NOT an individual.

Mocking an entire team is uncalled for... as for individual... if they cant handle what they throw out then dont throw stuff.
