Raiders fans on Jihad Ward

Well, our fans pitched a hissy fit over losing Switzer. So: fans aren't always a reasonable barometer of reality.
 
It's not always black and white. We disliked Marty Bennett. He did very well elsewhere. Pro bowl and Superbowl ring. Sometimes you have to read between the lines. Let's hold back on the fatwah's until later.:):):)
 
Marinelli’s strength is getting the most out of defensive lineman.

People need their expectations to be in order. He is not coming here to be an all pro tackle. He is a guy with measurables who marinelli is going to work to death to be a functional role player on what looks like an improved defensive line.

The thing ab Dez is this.. Dez hasn’t been signed bc his ego won’t allow him to understand the business side of football.(I mean he did turn down the Ravens offer)His emotions to ‘get back’ at our Boys has blinded the fact he wasn’t the same WR. Multiple injuries and not having an accurate QB like Romo has robbed him of his Top 5 status. His emotions is the same reason he was revered by fans, yet became a detriment to a QB (Dak) that is in the process of refining his skills. He wants to be a Giant so bad to prove a point.. that’s the same philosophy that ran him out of Dallas. He has the inability to see the ‘big’ picture. It’s not personal. His game play should be the only thing he should be taking personal. Yes, Eli could make the throws as Romo, but Dez still won’t be the focal point in NY. As long as OBJ is there, Dez will only be a compliment. Exactly what Dallas was asking him to be. Dallas just couldn’t afford Dez to be a complimentary player at 17mil a year. If Dez would play this right, he’d call SF and be Garoppolo’s #1 or GB and be Aaron’s go to guy. But his emotions blind him. I love Dez’s passion, but hate how he’s painting himself immature:/

This is why I like the trade. We needed a DT, we did not need all those WR’s. I would have been just as happy if they traded Beasley. Only becasue of his contract and age compared to Switzer. I never liked the Switzer pick anyway. Not at that point in the 4th. Though he still needed time to learn and develop last year he was growing on me some as to give him another year to see if he was worth that 4th round pick. Which I thought we should have picke Xavier Woods there.

Anyway, a change of scenery and a change of scheme may be just what Ward needs. If he is part of the rotation from the start, great trade.

There are two new big time running backs that joined the NFCE for us to face four times this year.
If they run all over this defense, I hope Marinelli is held accountable. If Rod shuts them down, then he deserves almost all of the credit.

big dog--- personally i enjoy sarcasm if used in right places....i think its healthy to laugh at ourselves and others...we humans are a peculiar bunch

Ward is only 23, started 13 games as a rookie and then was injured most of last year. Hard to make any real judgements on him after such a short time period. Has potential and fills a need, while Switzer would be riding the bench.

big dog--- since i am a cripple i get away with cripple jokes...i have this friend who got both hands blown off in Iraq...I.U.D...and chose to have hooks placed on his arms as prosthetic devices...anyway he was terribly discriminated against and i did not like it...in fact one time we went into our favorite bar and the bartender refused to serve him...well...this really got me riled up....and i shook my finger at the bartender demanding an answer why?...the bartender calmly looked at me and said..."Cause your friend cant handle his liquor"..hehehehe
