Looks like the Stanley to Chargers buzz is picking up, they have to go tackle don't they?:

http://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/2016/apr/26/laremy-tunsil-chargers-mayock-jalen-notre-dame/

I don't buy into media buzz, it's mostly media made up for the airways and ratings at this time of the year......the team had injuries on the O-line last year and although I like Tunsil for them, there defensive line is trash against the run and I like Buckner more......and they didn't bring Ramsey in for a visit, so I'm hoping he falls into the Cowboys lap...

Ramsey makes the secondary top flight with Benson Mayowa and David Irving as your starting DE's? Good luck with that. He better be able to cover for six seconds.

So we draft Bosa who is strictly a RDE and do what with him when Lawrence and Gregory come back? Gregory has far more upside than Bosa does, if he can stay in the league. Lawrence is a far better player and has more upside than Bosa. Hell, Mayowa is, right now, a better player than Bosa.

So you sit Bosa? Make him part of the all important rotation of players?

Ramsey, even as a rookie, could play many different roles for you. If you're creative. Which is my biggest concern with our defensive coordinator. I don't think he'd get the most out of Ramsey this year. And yes, it will take probably half a year for Ramsey to come into his own playing CB. But by next year he will be very, very good.

And no, for the thousandth time, you don't put two first round draft picks at safety. It WON'T happen. And Ramsey has far more upside at CB than Jones does.

Out of those 4, I want Ramsey. I think he's the real deal and can play safety or corner. It would be a big step up in the athleticism and tackling of our DB's. And if we chose to move Ramsey and Jones to safety, we'd easily have the most athletic safeties in the league. And we can do a variety of things like have them start at safety and then on passing downs, bring Church/Wilcox in to cover the tailback in short yardage, move Byron to the slot and bring in Heath for intermediate coverage help.

This team needs to get their coverage split between man and cover (press and off coverage). That's the biggest reason we don't make interceptions...the coverage is easily spotted out and the QB knows where the ball has to go.

I don't think Bosa is what we want for our scheme. Nice player and wouldn't mind having him, but he's not explosive enough for me to pick him at #4.

I like Zeke, but at 4 picking RB isn't a great value. Especially when you have DMC and Morris.

Tunsil is a nice player, but I like what I saw out of Tyron out of college and he was picked #9. Tunsil's drop-slide step is not even close as good as Tyron's and I think Tunsil would be a better RT than LT. But, picking Tunsil would be excessive.

I still want Lynch. But would be happy with Ramsey.

There are still FA DEs available, including Jeremy Mincey and Jason Jones.

Could Dallas make a significant push for Jones and/or Mincey today (Wednesday) through the opening of the draft?

ANd would signing a guy like Jones (or MIncey) give them some breathing room at DE that they can go Ramsey or Elliot at #4 (preferrably Ramsey IMO)?

Bosa can flip inside on passing downs and I am not counting on Gregory for anything but another failed drug test at this point. I think he is a good kid, but has a serious dependancy.

Using your logic, a defensive end should never be drafted because they take time to develop.

Pick now and start developing the player. If it takes time for a DE to flourish, so be it. You said it yourself.

Case in point:
Carolina has a mobile QB and a great defense who are the reining NFC Champions. The Cowboys will eventually have to go through Carolina or Greenbay.

The Cowboys must invest in the D-Line and use the high pick now.

You simply can not out score every team every Sunday.

Missed my point a rookie DE provide no immediate relief for the probable lack of pass rush this year(I say this hoping to be wrong and someone steps up). DeMarcus Lawrence and Gregory are our best chance of sustaining a real pass rush this year of course after they serve their four game suspensions. Now signing a veteran DE would lessen the severity of our problem.
I understand you cannot outscore each team but you can control the ball and keep your defense off the field for large chunks of time. The longer this current pass rush defense is exposed the worse it will become, so lets limit its exposure with our offense.

Flip in for who? Crawford and his contract shouldn't be coming out. Irving looked very good in limited time inside. Thornton could even excell here as a 3T. Why draft a guy just to occassionaly play him inside?

Now the Gregory thing does worry me. But Bosa isn't the same kind of player. If Gregory flames out, we need a true pass rusher. I don't think that's Bosa.
