Where exactly did I say that? I merely pointed that 37% ain't exactly an overwhelming mandate.

but it was 100% the best consensus pick and you chose to see it as a slam on him, even though that same mindset would slam every top player in the draft.

like i said, made no sense. sorry.

What can I say, other than to congratulate you on your "glass half full" (or, in this case, 37% full) approach to life.

The one thing that poll tells us is that isn't an unquestioned best player in this draft. Maybe Ramsey will be that guy, maybe he won't. But to pretend that this represents some sort of clear mandate for the guy is absurd.

so tell me which player, in this scenario, rated well? it's impossible for ANYONE to come out as a "good" pick when the one who got the most votes for 1st place still falls short in your eyes of seeing that as validation.

kinda strange when you look at it like that but hey, have fun.

To reiterate:

"Imo this would have been a lot more useful if the writer had thought to ask the respondents to give their top 3, and then provided a ranking based on the cumulative scores."

Read on Twitter that Ramsey would have the fewest college INT's of any DB drafted in the top 10 since 2000.

to quote:

"So the fact that 12 of the 19 people polled didn't think Ramsey was the top player in the draft is supposed to make us feel better about the prospect of him being a Cowboy?"

Didn't say that, didn't even imply it.

yet thats what everyone seems to have heard. cause basically what you said was "even though he got the most first place votes, i still get no warm fuzzy for the possibility of him being a cowboy".

it comes across as you dismissing the stat and making it seem worthless because you don't like ramsey.

Yeah. So you aren't troubled by the fact that there doesn't seem to be an clear consensus on the BPA as we are about to make our highest draft pick in over twenty years?

no.

has there ever been a 100% all experts agree on when someone could or should get drafted? not to my knowledge. however, if you use this stat alone, ramsey *is* the concensus best player available among people who voted for this.

it just seems you don't like ramsey so this stat and these writers must be diminished or you'd be ... wrong, in your dislike of ramsey IF YOU DO.

i have no idea what you think about ramsey but it does seem you simply do not want him on the team based on this thread alone.

LOL yeah, either it's unanimous or he's crap.

I'll admit I don't like the idea of drafting Ramsey at 4, but that not why I dismiss this as meaningless. I did so because (1) "someone else" got over 60% of the possible votes; and (2) the question is poorly phrased. An overall ranking based on each respondent's top 3 would be valuable information. This is not.

except if we're just talking about "first place" votes, ramsey got twice as many as the next available player. we're just looking at 19 personnel people say who they think the best in the draft is and ramsey got the most nods.

not sure why it has to be analyzed more than that unless you don't like the results so we must slam the system or question to diminish it.

that's how it comes across anyway.

You don't think that knowing where Ramsey stands in the minds of the Other 12 would be useful?
