To clarifiy, "Someone" = "Not Ramsey".

Well "SOMEONE" other that the greatest golfer in the world wins Tournaments 70% of the time. Doesn't mean the guy still isn't the greatest golfer in the world.
Same rules apply here. If you can't acknowledge that, than I don't know what else to say.

Probably. I freely admit I'm not in love with the idea of using a top 5 draft pick on a DB...especially not on one who had as many dropped interceptions in 2015 as he had total ints in his career.

Well at least you just admitted your opinion of the facts is based upon your bias to a preference.

Ramsey played three different positions at FSU. FS as a FR, Star (his sophomore season, more of a hybrid role) and CB as a JR. Two first round talents (2nd round picks Darby and PJ Williams) played CB early in Ramsey's career and were not as versatile as Jalen, who did what was needed for the team to win even though he arrived at FSU as a 5-star CB. He has some technical issues playing CB due to lack of experience, but those should get ironed out quickly. I expect him to play CB in the NFL and I predict he will be an all pro caliber player at the position. His length is really going to be a huge benefit in the NFL. 6'1 is nice, but his arm length is ridiculous. One thing people don't focus on enough with Jalen is his ability to set the edge as a CB against the run. Go watch the Clemson tape from last year against a 1st round QB in 2017 and a stable of talent at WR. Jalen was dominate and the only play of significance made by his man was a WR screen when FSU simply got outflanked.

His floor as a player is at safety. Everyone agrees he can play there at a high level. I do too. But I don't expect safety to be his position in base.

Downside: The guy is such a finely tuned athlete I worry about muscle pulls keeping him off the field. There is no history of that with Jalen, but he's just not built like a normal dude. He's a complete freak.

For the record, I was on board with getting QB to build around. It's also too bad there isn't an elite pass rusher at the top of the board. If Dallas had more of a need on the OL, I'd be fine with that too. Since none of the above is going to happen, Jalen is the right pick IMO. He will produce. By the end of the season, he may well be the best player on the Cowboy Defense if they draft him.

The Journal Sentinel conducted a poll of 19 "national-oriented personnel men" this month, asking them to name the draft's best player, regardless of position. Here's how the voting went:

1. Florida State DB Jalen Ramsey (7 votes)

2. Ole Miss OT Laremy Tunsil (3.5)

3. UCLA LB Myles Jack (2.5)

T-4. Ohio State DE Joey Bosa (2)

T-4. Notre Dame LB Jaylon Smith (2)

T-4. North Dakota State QB Carson Wentz (2)

I remember when the season ended everyone wanted us to go BPA.
