Randle an afterthought in righting the ship

Randle is being unfairly thrown under the bus in this hurry to blame someone for the problems of the offense. The facts are that we have no passing threat to speak of and our offensive line, to put it nicely, isn't quite playing at the 1993 Superbowl champion level we all expected.

Now Randle isn't all-world by any means, but asking for success behind those circumstances is a tall order for any running back.

Randle's problem isn't about production. It's about trust.

Everybody knows the challenges to an offense without Romo and Dez. But his poor judgment in critical moments, his past, and the apparent frustration with his freelancing on run plays is an issue with the coaches.

What poor judgement in "critical moments" do we keep referring to? You're implying there's been a bevy of bonehead plays by Randle. He made a bad decision against the Saints that ultimately didn't hurt the team much anyway. He has by all accounts been solid, though not spectacular, in pass protection and I think he's made due with what the offensive line has given him.

Yup.

We can go round and round, but within 2-3 weeks, if Michael shows anything, he'll be the closest thing to a bellcow Garrett uses, and Randle will be the "other" guy once again.

Garrett was quoted in his weekly press conf this week stating; Randle is still the starter at RB...

I agree with him. at the end of the day it comes down to game day performance and there is no reason to believe that CM is better than randle. he wasn't even with us un preseason.

He's a different style than Randle. He's similar to Lynch in style and build, a lower set power guy versus Randle's more upright and thin frame.

I think they want a guy that can turn 2 yards into 5 right now, moreso than a guy that's home run or bust. Especially with Romo out, they need a chain mover.

It's what message boards do when a team is not winning. First it's the QB, so he's vilified and an attempt is made to make it seem that that was the source of all the problems. Then we need a guy in the batters' box to start preparing in case it's not the QB, after all. Joseph Randle, step up and meet your Dallas Cowboys football fans.

When we're done with him, we'll switch to blaming the coaches and Jerry in earnest. Sure, we're doing a little bit of that this week, but we'll really kick it in gear if we lose to the Giants.

Meanwhile, the entire issue has just been too many really good players not in the lineup so our backups can't beat the other guys' starters.

turn 2 into 5, but we need better OL play.

Other than the reaching goaline play, what has he done to lose "trust"
They trusted McFadden could protect, and he's failed at that.

Except weedon was benched by the coaches. And, no way that was a conclusion from 1 game against the pats vs 2 games with a 108.8 rating. . If so, that is as knee jerk as fans appear to be.

Randle would not be the starter on any other NFL team...well maybe some extremely sucky one that I'm not thinking of. If he gets cut from the Cowboys her will struggle to be the #2 back anywhere else. Within 3 years he will be out of the league.
