He has no choice. What has he done to deserve anything else?

Got a question about that. When do you think it started going south? For me it's when the attitude era guys all left. Hasn't been the same and I doubt it ever will be.

Roman has become a better wrestler since when I first started watching...he has the look...he looks badass to me but they have ruined him. That time he spent away hurt or whatever happened to him hurt him. They give him a shot I guess because it was written that way long ago but he's just sort of dull to me..

Give it to Seth!

I agree.

The "Attitude-era" was probably the last time the world championship meant something.

But even then there wasn't much defending of the belt outside of the US.

During the heyday of the NWA, the world title was defended in many countries outside the US... It really was a world title.

There is something snarky about Orton that I find unlikeable but he's a heck of a wrestler.

He's a very arrogant person, behind the scenes. The look he has, the vibe he gives people from that look, from what I understand is exactly how his personality is backstage.

Very strong sense of entitlement. He never mentions it, but I'll bet he gets that based on his dad's success.

I would imagine so.

He definitely gives off the vibe that he's something special, and knows he's something special, and everyone should just be thrilled to know him.

WWE Stock Crashes After Record-Breaking WrestleMania 31
3/30/2015 @ 2:19PM

Fans may be happy about World Wrestling Entertainment’s 31st annual WrestleMania blowout, but investors are not.

WWE stock fell more than 14% on Monday morning after Seth Rollins stole the World Heavyweight Championship belt from Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. The dive probably has less to do with what happened in the ring, than how many fans were watching–and subscribing to more wrestling.

WWE announced that its “over-the-top” television network has grown to 1.3 million subscribers, up 31% from January 27, when the company passed 1 billion for the first time. That’s tremendous growth for a product that costs $9.99 a month. But it clearly wasn’t enough to impress Wall Street.

“We believe that exceeding 1.3 million subscribers reflects the successful execution of our strategy and puts us on the path to transformative growth through WWE Network,” (former billionaire) WWE CEO Vince McMahon said in a statement.

WWE CFO George Barrios admitted that while the company is “pleased with our short-term results” and “confident in the long-term potential,” subscriber count may “exhibit seasonality” in which customers pay for the service in the run up to big events like WrestleMania and drop it during the slower months.

One successful tactic in February was a free promotion that attracted 201,000 trial subscribers to WWE Network. 154,000 (77%) of those converted to paying subscribers in March.

This isn’t the first time a subscriber update at WrestleMania sunk WWE’s stock. One year ago, the stock plunged 19% the day after WWE’s biggest show. WWE kept falling and hit bottom in May, losing 60% of the company’s value in a month and a half. The stock had rebounded 46% since then before Monday.

USA’s ‘WWE Raw’ Hits Nearly 3-Year Ratings High on Monday
Variety
Rick Kissell
April 1, 2015

Despite tough competition for male viewers from Comedy Central’s roast of Justin Bieber, USA wrestling series “WWE Monday Night Raw” soared Monday to its largest audience in nearly three years.

On the heels of Sunday night’s Wrestlemania 31, where Seth Rollins won his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the big draw for audiences on Monday was Brock Lesnar challenging Rollins to a rematch. Also, U.S. champion John Cena defended his title against Dean Ambrose.

According to Nielsen, an average audience of 5.4 million (including 2.4 million adults 18-49) watched from 8 to 11 p.m., making USA the No. 1 cable network during primetime in both categories. Week to week, “WWE Raw” was up by 27% in adults 18-49, 24% in adults 25-54 and 28% in total viewers.

The 5.4 million viewers is the largest for a night of USA’s “WWE Monday Night Raw” since the “Raw 1000″ special in July 2012.

With its three-hour “WWE Raw,” USA also rose to No. 1 among cable networks in primetime in adults 18-49 (1.9) and was No. 1 on all of television from 8 to 11 p.m. in adults 18-34 (1.8), men 18-34 (2.5), men 18-49 (2.5) and men 25-54 (2.7).

One of the most popular Divas in WWE has decided to call it quits.

Three-time Divas champion AJ Lee has parted ways with WWE, according to WWE.com. Lee had been rumored to have soured on active competition and her role in the company for some time and she has reportedly opted to retire from in-ring competition. Her most recent appearances had her winning a tag team match with Paige over the Bellas at WrestleMania 31 on Sunday and being on the winning side in a six-person Divas tag match the following night on RAW.

Lee, who in real life is married to former WWE champion and recent UFC signee CM Punk, is a lifelong wrestling fan who made her WWE debut on the third season of NXT in 2010. She initially teamed with Kaitlyn as the Chickbusters before becoming one of the focal points of the Divas division.

Huh. I wonder if her closeness to CM Punk had anything to do with this sudden decision.

Some TNA thoughts...

* Very shrewd of them to be releasing Sting DVDs. Timing is perfect due to Sting's increased visibility due to Mania & WWE. Take full advantage of it, why not? Great business move.

* Gail Kim is still one of the best lady wrestlers. Have always loved watching her....

* Lashley, if he had an ounce of charisma, and could work the mic, could have been incredible in WWE back in the day. He's still a fantastic pure wrestler though, and watching him vs. Kurt Angle, two of the best pure true wrestlers in recent memory, is a joy to watch how they mix in real wrestling moves and counters with professional / entertainment work.
