Eight sacks? Mincey did that but took a full season and people around here were hailing him as a free agent steal.

But Freeney? No, no, we'll have none of that. Progress stopper. Etc.

Yeah, you don't want to hold back Mayowa and Irving.

Americans have those healthy options too. That's my point.

Fill your kitchen with healthy foods if you "can't control your eating". You'll be the healthiest "food addict" alive.

Or you can keep stuffing your face with fatty foods and blame it on the ol' "food addiction". Whatever floats your boat. And there will be plenty of enablers, like mattjames, to rid you of blame along the way.

This isn't a new concept: http://archpsyc.jamanetwork.com/article.aspx?articleid=1107239
The intake of certain foods, specifically calorie dense (fried/fatty, refined carbs, etc.) foods cause specific endorphins/seratonins to be released which cause pleasure and cravings for more (i.e. chasing after that feeling).

It's also not an oversimplified concept where you eat a piece of chocolate and you're forever hooked. However, when you factor in other existing conditions such as depression, insecurity, and other emotional imbalances, it can lead to momentary indulgences that have negative affects....in other words, over-eating, which leads to obesity.

It sounds like to me you're thinking because you don't have the problem, nobody else should either.

I think the Falcons are looking at him. If JJ had and sense he would bring him in at this point. He put up 8 sacks and 7 tackles last year. I'm not sure how is sack count got so hight but record such a low tackle count but those sacks are something we need.

Yeah he also came in late too. He didnt get the benefit of an entire offseason and learning the playbook. They just threw him in and said get the quarterback.

Hold back what? Freeney could play a handful of snaps in preseason and those two could run their legs off and get plenty of opportunities to show they belong.

People invent that idea just because they know deep down that this organization is very reluctant to trust veteran players who might be relegated to roles. In other words, we are pinching cap pennies when it comes down to guaranteed money.

Isn't it sad we're wasting the last years of the franchise QB Parcells left us with this undisciplined circus nonsense courtesy of our lunatic owner?

Tick tick tick tick. If you want to follow the true progress of this team you'll simply watch the clock.

I'm not dismissing that there are medical reasons fat people overeat, or scientific reasons why fatty foods taste better than healthy foods.

I just don't buy the idea that they're powerless to stop. Because they're not.

It's a cop-out and you're just enabling the fatties by pretending it's not their fault. It's 100% their fault.

If you can't control your eating, then you surely KNOW you can't control your eating... so stop surrounding yourself with unhealthy food. Get it out of your kitchen.

It takes discipline. Simple as that. Either you have it or you don't. Or in 2016, you blame a disorder.

Lol, wait.

So, by extension of your reasoning, is depression just a matter of discipline (i.e. not focusing on the negative)?

Addictions (of any type) can be a product of a psychosomatic issue(s).

You do understand there are people who are obese because they're lazy, unmotivated or simply happy and content with who they are, but are for the most part mentally/emotionally stable? You also understand there are people who are obese in large part due to the compounding affects of depression, emotional imbalance, medications which cause them to be lethargic and immobile? That's not even bringing up genetics and how some people are endowed with great physical genetics/traits while others simply aren't.

I think you're lumping everyone into one convenient characterized group of lazy and undisciplined people.

"We want to see what we have in our younger players." - One of the Joneses, or both, very soon.

Probably, but I think it makes less sense now with one of those younger players not returning any time soon.

I'm interested in seeing Mayowa, Irving, Russell and Tapper, but they have all of three career sacks among them. It wasn't that Gregory added anything to that number, but at least he had a certain level of expectation with Dallas having spent a premium pick on him.

Right now, we only have one player (Lawrence) who we can count on playing this season at end who Dallas can realistically expect to get to the quarterback. Everything else is wishing and hoping with less reason to hope with Gregory out indefinitely.

This young man should check into a mental health facility. A thorough mental evaluation may reveal some real issues other than addiction. Just my two cents.

haha. Several of us called this when we wasted a draft pick on this dumb loon. It was only a matter of time. This guy will be out of the league very shortly. Demetrius Underwood 2.0

No, depression is between the ears. That's real.

True addiction is PHYSICAL. Physically NEEDING your vice. Completely involuntary.

It's not an "addiction" if all it takes is discipline to get over it. That's obviously not the case with depression.

"Food addiction" is a farce. If it's an extension of depression, then it's depression.

To label it as an "addiction" gives ALL fat people a built-in excuse to overeat, not just the ones who suffer from REAL depression (or any affliction).

A guy who can't bring himself to stop smoking weed because he's bipolar isn't a "weed addict", he's just bipolar.
