NOBODY in the Cowboys organization has any information. They're not saying they can't comment, they are saying they haven't heard anything. Wouldn't the NFL at least INFORM THE PLAYER'S TEAM if there was an ongoing investigation?

Gregory was initially suspended the first four games of the season for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy in the offseason. An additional 10-game penalty was announced on Sept. 29 for another violation. While there have been reports of Gregory committing another violation of the policy during the current suspension, sources say the Cowboys have not received any update from the NFL of a longer potential penalty.

When asked last week about Gregory's status, coach Jason Garrett said he had no information. At different times during the season owner and general manager Jerry Jones has remained supportive of Gregory, but has not commented further.
So after hearing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING from the NFL, the Cowboys figured Gregory could start practicing, and all of a sudden, according to Todd Archer, the NFL is only NOW informing the team Gregory can't practice?

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON??!!

The NFL disciplinary system is a procedural mess. People at HQ are so whimsical it's not even funny. They should give everyone associated with every team a disciplinary rule book so everyone is on constructive notice of what action will get that what penalty and when you can return. Right now it appears they're going with whatever the wind blows. None of this discretionary malarky where it's at the discretion of guy whose only skill is making money for the owners. The NFLPA needs to stump for more due process and a voice in disciplinary matters instead of less padded practices when it come time to negotiate the next CBA.
I wish they would just replace the suspensions with implanted shock collars. Then the Overlords at NFL headquarters could just zap people when they feel like it. They could vary the power to the shock collar based on what rules were broken.

I will say, if this year suspension goes through, I can't invision us seeing this potential phenom ever. Even Aldon Smith missed less time (potentially, he's probably about to get reinstated)

Maybe Goodell finally realizes it will be good for the leagues bottom line to have the Cowboys advance has far in the playoffs as possible and slow walks this appeal until the seasons over.

I'm praying for this, man. But really, just praying it gets thrown out and <hush hush Jerry we owe you for the Rams and DIRECTV billions hush hush> type-dealio

just for fun, broaddus said he believes from talking to people that kellen moore will be on our coaching staff next year.
It seems obvious that he will either be the 3rd string QB or on the coaching staff. I saw him with a clipboard on the sidelines and he looked like he was coaching.

Go get him... he's the quarterback!

When they play at Jerry World, can Jerry have them use one of those spot lights that will superimpose an image onto something and then superimpose marijuana images onto the opposing QB?

Haven't you been paying attention to this board? He's the best to ever play at his position. /s

/s at the first or second sentence, Miley Dancer?
DO NOT GET YOUR HOPES UP, FRIENDS. JUST BECAUSE HE IS APPEALING AND PRACTICING, DOES NOT MEAN NFL WONT SLAM THE DOOR RIGHT BEFORE HE IS ELIGIBLE TO PLAY.

LET'S WAIT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS FIRST BEFORE WE JUMP TO ABSOLUTES, CRAZIER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED. WE NEED HIM AND, HELL, ITS FUN TO HOPE. SOME ACT LIKE IT HURTS, BUT, REALLY, LIKE A KID THAT WANTS THAT RED RIDER BB GUN FOR CHRISTMAS, IT'S FUN TO HOPE, PATRIC.

Suspensions are usually announced AFTER the appeal process. For reasons of privacy or whatever. When the appeal is processed, upheld or reversed, then an announcement will be made.

It does not stop "sources" ie agents and whoever from leaking the information.

Then why is the NFL sending out tweets on the subject (as per @drawandstrike)??

Thus far, when asked about any new suspension being appealed, Jason Garrett and people with the team say they have heard absolutely nothing.

They don't say "I can't comment", they say "I haven't heard anything."

You'd think if a new suspension was being appealed, the NFL would at least inform the TEAM of it. Thus far the Cowboys entire organization continues to say "We have heard nothing from the NFL about any new violation or suspension or appeal of such suspension."
