According to sources, the NFL has informed the Cowboys Randy Gregory will not be allowed to practice on Wednesday. There had been hope the defensive end, who is suspended through Dec. 18, could begin to practice before the penalty ends in hopes of getting close to game ready for the final two games of the regular season.

The NFL disciplinary system is a procedural mess. People at HQ are so whimsical it's not even funny. They should give everyone associated with every team a disciplinary rule book so everyone is on constructive notice of what action will get that what penalty and when you can return. Right now it appears they're going with whatever the wind blows. None of this discretionary malarky where it's at the discretion of guy whose only skill is making money for the owners. The NFLPA needs to stump for more due process and a voice in disciplinary matters instead of less padded practices when it come time to negotiate the next CBA.

kinda torn on the Randy situation. Tired of the suspensions. But if he improves the pass rush for the playoff run I'll light one up for him. For medicinal purposes only of course.

If they stop him from practicing because of the possible, maybe, impending suspension, without allowing the opportunity to appeal, then Lane Johnson shouldn't have been able to play 4 games before his suspension was upheld.

I hate this 'make it up as we go, don't question it' attitude the nfl has.

Because the NFL won't clarify what the hell is going on with Gregory's situation, nobody knows anything.

All over pot, big efing deal. Would love to see him in some spot duty for the playoffs, fresh legs and quickness. No worse than what we have currently.

The Cowboys aren't stupid. If they were going to allow him to practice they must have had a very good reason to do it. What changed? I am cynical enough when it comes to the league office and the Mara connection to not be surprised if the NFL reversed course on this. But that's just a guess.

So Lane Johnson gets to play during his appeal for PEDs but Gregory can't play during an appeal because of weed?

Ok, gotcha NFL. Consistency continues.
