I guess theres always hope.

Even for Browns fans.

I'm just glad we already found a QB. God the threads would be long and boring! 'Does anybody think that Kellen Moore could be the starter?' 'Kapernick could win games for us'. Blahhhhhhhhh.....

since Deware left the ONLY player that has been in a cowboys jersey that was a true legitimate pass rusher was Hardy. After several years of such, you start to see hope in places where previously you would never have seen a thing.
We should bring back Hardy, too. **** it, we brought in Moore.

We need a damned RDE, who cares about moral turpitude. This is football, folks.

I guess it's the state of the game these days. All these pansy do-gooders.

I've had multiple doctors (I have exactly seven that live in my neighborhood) tell me that the general opinion in the medical community is that the brain stops maturing with frequent marijuana use.

Pretty sure they're talking about a study, one study, of young adults who smoked marijuana. The study showed that IT IS POSSIBLE that frequent marijuana use hinders development of brain tissue in young adults. It's a crap study. They also concluded that these same test subjects also used alcohol and other drugs and the test sample was too small to draw any real conclusions. That study is pretty much blown out of the water by the mere fact that Carl Sagan was a lifelong marijuana smoker.

Studies have also showed marijuana might help boost elderly brain cells.

Those studies are generally funded by Big Pharma, as well.

The booze industry doesn't want any part of federally legal weed, as well.

Now, let's all go hide in the bushes from potheads.

well, if he could smoke his herb, all would be well. He has to chose, that's sad.
you really going to think the NFL will let them puff away during the game? Because that sounds like what Gregory needs; has to have it all the time.

just because Carl Sagan beat it does not mean a whole lot. Might be the exception that proves the rule. Fact is that there have not been enough large studies on MJ to determine much of anything. But I find it hard to believe it is as harmless as some here want to believe. It is clearly NOT as dangerous as Reefer Madness would make you think (by the way its hard to get a copy of that anymore; sad because it is one of the most unintentionally hilarious films ever made)

Not during the game man. No.

They can shoot up their 4ccs of liquid dilaudid for the games. But they should be able to partake during offdays.

No player should play inebriated, tho they do every game on said opiates (usually liquid, thus stronger). But that's fine...

I don't think players should be able to smoke and play while high on The Weed. But The Weed shouldn't be wasting blue chip talent like Gregory.

Not in this day and age of information (as it pertains to scholarly and medical journals) and a supposed higher intelligence and understanding of what is.

It doesn't matter what the NFL wants, there much higher hurdles to overcome before it ever gets down to the NFL level.. It must pass at the state level first of all.....THEN even then federal laws (Sessions if he's still employed today is wanting the feds to override the states that have legalized it) trump (no pun intended) state laws and considering that Texas has some of the slowest thinking lawmakers in the U.S. at the helm not wanting to risk their kushy careers by rocking the boat.

It's way simpler than that. The NFL can just choose to no longer test for cannabis in it's substance abuse policy. Obviously there can still be laws against it, but the government can only prosecute you for possession or distribution, not usage.

So lets pretend for a minute that the NFL makes pot legal.

So now we have a Randy Gregory who smokes a suitcase full of pot a day. How will that make him a better player?

He will probably just in thr middle of the field pulling out grass blades while the play goes on around him. Like a 5 year old playing center field.
A suitcase full? Where do you get this? Why are you being so obtuse for the sake of being obtuse?

What if he smokes a joint to relieve anxiety after pulling off a 2 sack game and having to face 30-40 minutes of reporters, nearly giving him a panic attack?

What if he smokes because it relieves insomnia due to tension after a hectic practice?

Where is this suitcase **** coming from? Is Randy the ******* cartel all of a sudden?

Cut it out.

If marijuana had any lasting ill effects on the brain we would be in the midst of a HUGE epidemic of aging baby boomers with mental deficiencies caused by prolonged marijuana use.

That's true, but does that mean if a player gets busted for cannabis that he wouldn't face any discipline from the league? We're talking about an entity who's braintrusts penalized two teams for CAP infractions when there was no cap at the time.

I guess Goodell and his toady Mara will make a decision at some point....Mara benefits status quo on the first game of the season so I can't see him being for anything that might take that edge away.

Smoking pot on a regular basis makes you lethargic and soft, even if it dosen't damage your brain (which I believe it does, long term).

Lethargic and soft doesn't win football games. I don't want soft and lethargic on my team.

If he can go 15-18 months clean, fine. He can play. But I don't think he can do it. And even if he is allowed to do it, I don't want him anyway.

Give me a call when he sees the field and contributes positively. Until then, my focus will be on the guys at training camp who may actually this team win games.

LOL

OK, hoss.

You contradict yourself in your own post. Would you like me to show you where? ****, the back half of your whole post is a contradiction.

You're lost in the woods. Smoke a joint, brosuf.

Never mind you ignored my whole post. You're on the verge of me labeling you a malcontent. Something I'll never let go of.

Be genuine and fair. Address my posts before going off on your own tangents. Don't be selfish.

Pass duh joint, Rasta, and I'll pass it back (that's allegory, mon frere, not literally. Before you call the DEA on me).

Woot :star:

I've heard all this nonsense. I know it's REALLY important for some folks to believe this.

I'm all for legalized pot. Drugs in general make it easy for my kids to vastly out-achieve other kids, along with a whole host of other justified habits and belief structures.

I've fired 100 potheads, at least. Can't get an honest day's work out of them.

None of that has any bearing on the collective bargaining system
