I've read your quotes presenting the TMZ report as evidence against Gregory. I have also read your subsequent dissembling. It's actually amusing watching to what lengths you will go to avoid the issue so keep it up. It's like going to the zoo.

Failed to articulate what claim? The only thing I have claimed about the TMZ report is that TMZ reported he failed a test and Jerry was skeptical of it.

Now what about that statement is innaccurate? Did TMZ not report he failed a test? And did Jerry not say he was skeptical of the report?

If those things didn’t happen, then let me know.

We don’t know he hasn’t gotten popped for a bad test. I think it is most likely he has not been clean and that is why he is still waiting to file instead of already being reinstated.

That's one way to look at it OR he could have made sure he has his life together first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MR Hopkins----- I have been one of those fans that has faithfully stood behind Gregory during all of this.....probably because i battled drug abuse for decades but was eventually set free...but more than his personal life my motivation is "Wow..imagine cowboys with...Lawrence...and Irving...and Collins and Gregory on the line?..not to mention slim possibility of getting Vera in draft to play 1-tech....our D line would be elite with those players...take elite D line with elite O line..elite running back....maybe the addition of ET as safety and elite backfield...and with Lee and other linebackers...close to elite....and hopefully effective adjustment for Dak and his play returning him to very good..maybe not elite but good to very good QB...then our tight ends TE's...got witten and he can still do witten things that are good....and this year the chatter about my man Rico Gathers
improving so much he will be a night mare so now TE's close to elite...and our special teams are elite...now really only group not elite is receivers
but i think when dust settles after everything through training camp and building chemistry with Dak that passing game will be good-very good....this looks like potentially a very powerful team in NFL

I get that it doesn't happen overnight. I don't expect it to happen overnight. I smoked for 20+ years and know how hard it is to quit something. He was notified November 2016 that he was going to be banned from the league. He went through the appeals process and lost. He returned for the last 2 games of the 2016 season knowing he was going to be banned in January 2017. He knew he would be eligible to apply for reinstatement on 11/6/17. That would give him almost a full year to "be on course to file for reinstatement". That's not overnight.

During that year, it was reported by TMZ he failed another test. This was not denied by Gregory's people or the Cowboys. Jerry said he was "skeptical" of the report.

In October when he was nearing the time he could file for reinstatement, it came out that he wouldn't file. He had the desire to come back. There was a source that said he had a setback which would require counseling or another stint in rehab.

Now, for months they have been claiming Gregory wants to come back and is working to come back and working towards the path of being able to file for reinstatement. If I am to believe he has been clean for 17+ months (since the failed test that got him banished to begin with) then that path should have already been taken. It would concern me MORE if he has been clean this entire time yet still wasn't prepared to file 5.5 months after he could have. It would concern me to the point that instead of wanting him to come back, I would change my mind and want the team to cut ties with him.

He has already wasted the opportunity to participate in the off season program and in another 2 months will put training camp in jeopardy. That's not good for a player that has missed the better part of 2 years, save for a couple of games.

I'm looking at this from a most likely scenario based upon all the articles and limited information and trying to read between the lines that I can because I have followed this situation closely since I've wanted him to return...he most likely didn't take the banishment seriously last year, had a change of heart late last year, has a sincere desire to come back now, and is putting together a string of clean tests and therapy to show Goodell he is clean and deserves to be reinstated. That's most likely causing the delay and that is most likely the path towards reinstatement they are referencing.

Well, I am happy for him. I've been wanting him to come back and I guess I was being selfish. Maybe he should take another year just to be sure and forget this season, too. Maybe instead of encouraging him to come back sooner, we should encourage him to come back later.

I think that's what has happened. Hopefully he can see this through!

So “he may have failed” is BS? I’ve also stated on several occasions that “he may be clean”. Is that BS, too?

Now that it is being reported that he has been clean since July 2016, if I say it is being reported that he has been clean in future conversations, is that going to be BS?

I have maintained for months that I don’t know what is going on. I have been clear about that and I am open to any information other people have. My opinions, which should be clear are opinions, are shaped by the available information. It is my wish for Gregory to return and that is why I have followed this case so closely.
