This was not easy to do.

I have Dak as 11.

But I'd take him today over Brees, Brady, Roethlisberger, and Wentz when building a franchise.

Just because of their age and Wentz's health issues
.

Curious to see other lists....especially the "Dak haters!"

You need to be more specific about your ranking. What are you ranking them by?

Apparently it did *not* mean "who do you want to build a franchise with?", which would be the most meaningful measure in the context of signing Dak to a new contract.

You, on Build a Franchise with:
1. Patrick Mahomes
2. Aaron Rogers
3. Russell Wilson
4. Lamar Jackson
5. DeShawn Watson
6. Matt Ryan
7. Dak Prescott

Pluses for Dak - Young, improving, should still continue to improve through his next contract, hasn't missed a game, can run.

Note - In your franchise list, there are a whole lotta running QBs. All but Ryan, and maybe Rodgers in his old age.

4. Rothleisburger
5. Mahommes
6. Wilson
7. Rivers
8. Ryan
9. Stafford
10. Goff

Top 10 prolific passers and order could be shuffled

After this the order could be shuffled around as well. I’m not big on these mobile running style QB like Jackson, Watson or Prescott . I’d rather had a more NFL proto-style passer.

11. Jackson
12. Watson
13. Cousins
14. Garapola
15. Mayfield
16. Prescott
16. Allen
17. Darnold
18. Wentz
19. Carr
20. Tannehill

Prescott could be anywhere from 13th or 14th to 20th based on his pure passing ability .

I defined "best" as which qb gives a team the best chance to win.

I still feel like Brees and Brady and Roth are good QBs but they will decline significantly after next season. Time is catching up with them. Doubt Brady and Brees play in 2022.

So how do you evaluate other QBs, in terms of best chance to win? I mean, you don't have any data on other QBs and how they might do with this Cowboys team.

Say a bit low, Dak should be around 10, so right around there.

Brady and Ryan both a bit high, and Jackson should be behind Mahomes.

Is this your list?

You say you would Draft Dak over Brees, Brady, Roeth, and Wentz, because of age, but you have Lamar Jackson behind Rodgers and Wilson?

I'm sure many will disagree but each top list includes some of the best offensive-minded head coaches and/or offensive coor in the game. Dak's head coach and offensive coor ( exception of Moore last year ) should have been fired 2-3 years ago if you believe most fans. That matters.........IMO

On the Cowboys, an argument can be made for as high as 12-14.
In a vacuum, or on a hypothetical team of replacement level players... bottom 10.
We'll probably never know.
I put him in the 9-15 range

But he's always been blessed with a superstar RB, very good or great oline, and more recently, very good WRs.
Not many guys on that list have had all of that....some not even once in their entire career.
