They just f'ed up again. The ball clearly hit the ground and they still said it was a touchdown.

Cant blame the guys on the field so much here.

Replay official didnt get it right.

Wasnt the NFL sposed to be helping these guys? You would think they could get the replay reviews correct.

I like that Steven Jackson jersey commercial :laugh2:

On the Boldin catch? that was a good call. The ball can touch the ground, as long as it doesn't alter the possession. The worse call was the incomplete pass on Green

That was a HORRIBLE call. Watch it again.

As long as there's no hard evidence that showed the ball coming out you have to stick with the original call. It was a good call.

but if the original call was brutal and there is not enough evidence to overturn it, blame the original call

I personally know 2 of these refs and while they are good guys they are no where near experienced enough to be calling these NFL games.
Wayne Bernier and Richard Simmons (I know his name is the same as that work-out freak show) were reffing 6 man high school football games last year in the Texas panhandle last year. That's not even division 2 college. They were replacement refs for division 2 college refs. The NFL is trying to pass this off as these guys are just as good as the regular refs but they are not. It's that simple.

Major screw up in the Washington/NO game where pass interference was called where there was NONE giving Washington the ball on the 1 yard line in what should've been a punting situation.

So many uncalled holds in our game in NY that it defies explanation.

The gift TD on the punt return where the obvious block in the back against the San Fran defender was picked up.

An extra time out was given in the Seattle/Arizona game.

Officiating has been worse than usual.

It may be a little worse, but let's be honest...everyone is watching them closer than usual. I've kind of enjoyed seeing less pass interference calls honestly. I still don't understand why the Cowboys are so targeted for penalties, however.

those screaming the loudest I notice keep talking about scabs. In reality they are angry about that not because they are replacement refs.

So frankly

YAWN.

Had nothing to do with it.

Even if it did it is meaningless if that was the reason why you looked.

There have been objective analysis of the current refs performance versus the previous and the new guys have been found lacking.

What I hear is a bunch of garbage about how the people that do not like the minor league refs only do so because of some supposed political reason. OTOH, what I see from people that want the old refs back talk about is actual performance.

Here is what the arguments go like.

A: The refs missed this call this call and this call.
N: You are watching them because of politics or you would have never noticed.
A: When you compare missed calls versus previous seasons its appreciably worse. Further the calls that they are missing are stuff that was virtually never missed before.
N: The calls go both ways and the previous refs were obviously biased.
A: Tell that to the Rams. Do you use aluminum or tin, btw?
N: Here are a bunch of cliched politically motivated economic paradigms and thus the old refs need to just suffer. You are only saying to the contrary because you are prolabor and political. I apparently have no concept of irony or hypocrisy.
A: Apparently not.

I don't mind the missed calls as much. They go both ways but they do need to learn the rules. That's the only gripe I have with them. The regular officials weren't that great either.

They are awful. They almost got Locker killed by not blowing an obvious play dead.

If that was Brees or Brady all hell would have broken lose.

I fear they will get someone hurt, you want hear much about all of the blown calls because the NFL is controlling their message to the public while they negotiate.

as mentioned earlier, because we know they are replacement officials there is an expectation that they are sub-standard and any mistake made is due to their lack of pedigree.... meanwhile there are innumerable games that regular officials totally botched over the years. The regular refs are better,,, but not that much better (at least not in the games I watched). So long as they are consistent in the application of the rules to both teams then it wouldn't bother me if they stayed,,,
