I Hope this isn't true. It looks like we will have a more then capable DE or DT fall right 2 us without doing anything.

Kony Ealy.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says to "watch the Cowboys on Kony Ealy" in the middle of the second round.
According to Rapsheet, the Cowboys are looking to make a "big move up" on Friday. Dallas' interest in Ealy has been pretty well known since early in the pre-draft process. Rotoworld's Evan Silva has Ealy going 47th overall to the Cowboys in his second-day mock draft, though there are obviously no guarantees Ealy will last that long. Leading up to Thursday night's first round, the Union-Tribune San Diego expected Ealy to be in play for the Chargers at No. 25 overall. May 9 - 2:52 PM

I hope we get him. I think we'll have to move up to get him.

They have spent time with these guys and I think at this point if you like a guy and feel the only way you can get him is by moving up then they should. Coaches have spent time and have been reviewing and have a feeling which player fits what they want so go get them if you have to.

What if we don't? What if they get taken just before we pick like Max Unger did in 2009?

Had we waited on Dez in 2010 he would be a Raven right now.

Ealy, Crichton and Lawrence. Don't like Nix cause I don't think he fits the bill as a passrusher. We need to get any passrusher available and I doubt that anyone of those mentioned will be there at 47. IMO.

BUT I SEE THE NEED TO DO WHAT IT TAKES....

I guess if the object is to draft 11 players then Dallas can just stay put on the other hand if the object is to get guys whom your high on and can start for you then you may have to move up to get them. My hope would be giving up no more than a 4th to move up high enough to get a player we think can come in and produce.

I'm starting to think more and more our 4th is going to be burnt today

Excellent point. We already didn't get Donald, Barr, Shazier yesterday. Not to say that I'm not stoked about Martin because I am, but we need DE/DT in such a bad way! I know Captain obvious! :)

I agree only thing I would say is this is where the scouts and Marinelli need to be on the same page. Scouts have the info on the player and the coach knows what he needs to put his defense in place.

not sure if i'm intentionally being misquoted and my sarcasm about a boring saturday went over some people's head, but as i've clearly said twice now - i see the need to do what it takes (trade up) to get impact players and come out a better team in the end, no matter how many picks we actually make.

Could live with it, but would prefer to keep it. Losing the 3rd would really hurt. Hopefully things fall well for us.

I guess the question becomes at what cost...
