Yep. That's the way I see it too.

I'm all for it, not just because I think they should do what they need to in order to get who they have targeted... but also because it means that there IS a guy there who they really like a whole lot. In other words, there is someone there who they think is head and shoulders above everyone else.

I prefer to think they have a guy they love rather than they will just take the highest rated player at their pick.

I think there are groups of players on that list.

Some DTs split between 1 or 3 Techs with most being one Techs. Sutton looking like the lone three.

Most of the DEs on that list are viewed as strong side DEs . D. Lawrence looking like the lone weak side DE

So if you want a one tech or a strong side DE you have multiple choices to choose from and have a better chance of falling.

Now I know Sutton is the lone three tech in that list but I doubt they will trade up for him.

Which means it is probably the lone weak side DE they are looking at in D. Lawrence as they are afraid one of the teams will take him.

That is what/who I think it is and why they want to move ahead of a team like Atlanta.

Of course this is just speculation.

Maybe they want to trade up ahead of Chicago and take Jernigan.

Who knows

I agree wholeheartedly. Jernigan has that in spades. He's nuckin' futs.

Good! I want a friggen beast from now on to play in the defense! Feed those mofo's gunpowder if need be. Leave the cuties on offense to do their thing. I want zombies looking for brains to eat on defense.

well, i hope we don't give up a 4th or 5th cause w/o a 6th, it's going to be a LOOOOONG saturday.

but i see the need to do what it takes to get the best impact player we can today.

We are sailing in the same boat apparently.
I 100% agree with you on this.

Of course i'm board with much of your philosophical views so this isn't too big of a surprise.

Not the Cowboys draft pick...
Wait, having said that- he just might know Jerry's heart... maybe he does know.

Shape it like the Dallas Cowboy Star and frost it with Silver and Blue frosting.

I see no reason why the Cowboys can't get away with trading a number two pick NEXT year to move up in this year's draft, be it for Kony Ealy, Demarcus Lawrence, or any DL they like; and still keep this year's 3 or 4. This is the deepest draft in the past decade, and Dallas needs to get as many players as they can from it. This is an unusually deep talent pool.

All logical thoughts. I pretty much see it that way too.

I don't see moving up in round two as a significant splash. Ealy and others are expected to be available.
To me, a splash would mean garnering two 2nd round picks together two players they want on D.

Now, since they went against scouts and their board last year because Marinelli did not want Floyd, I have to believe that any players selected for defense are guys Marinelli believes will thrive and contribute in his system and become starters. If that's true, I have no problem trading next year's #1. You hope to draft a starter with any first round pick, so getting a starter a year early is cool with me.

Looking at a deep draft this year, we didn't see a defensive player at 16 that we were sold on, so there's also no guarantee there will be next year unless you are drafting in the top 10. If we can get an extra 2nd early in round 2 tonight for next year's first and target a the guy you know you want, go for it!

Plug in two starters in the front 7....that's worth next year's #1.

Corso, Johnny Depp, The Ninth Gate?

You're on the correct path:
The movie was based on the book: Le Club Dumas- which is my favorite read by far and truly nothing like the film it was based upon.
BUT... the flick is a good enough representation of my favorite fictional character.

Good show!

Somebody to keep in mind also is Attaochu.

I absolutely love him as a WDE. I think Dallas likes him too, but I'm not sure.

IMO, I'd rather have him than Lawrence. Better athlete with a meaner attitude.

It's good to see that you didn't jump off a bridge last night.

I was convinced that the Giants and Bears wouldn't draft Donald, but I didn't really give much thought to the Rams.

No reason for that. This is not that talented of a DL group that we have to do that.

Some people say that he is small at DE, but his height and arm length are very similar to Anthony Spencer's. He's about 3/4" shorter than Spencer but has slightly longer arms. He is definitely much quicker than Spencer or Lawrence.
