Jerry knows best.. lol
Right..I think it's hilarious that fans seem to think they know better than GMs, owners, ex players and league insiders about JG's job prospects if him and the Cowboys decided to part ways. Not defending Garrett at all, just saying. Y'all crack me up.
Browns
Dolphins
Jets
Bengals
Tampa Bay
Cardinals**
Green Bay**
Last two are questionable but the Cowboys have had more success over the last several seasons than the first four listed here. Y'all can make fun of Jerry all you want, but he would absolutely have been a consideration for those teams. And that isn't considering college.
Now, the difference here is that if he lost his job right now, those have mostly been filled. But there is zero doubt he'd find a job next year.
Interesting.....
All good and fine, but the first five teams are “turnstile jobs” in regards to HCs, and it’s doubtful that most, if not all, of them would put up with JG starting out with an 8-8 three-peat like he did here.
First, spelling is for grade school and professional documents. On the internet, I prefer to just get the point of across. So, in your world, what credit does Garrett get, credit that warrants a decade of his reign? And by the way, before you try to tout how smart you are to people, and proclaim how foolish others are, you might want to double check your spelling of simple words, like "say". Just saying.

Now, you might find this difficult to believe but Garrett and the cowboys are not the only team out there. Usually, or perhaps, every time, there is another team on the field with the same goal; win the game. The problem with many fans is that they only see the world from one side. They compare Garrett to perfection, or against only the very very best coaches in a particular year. They are also hyper-focused on everything this team does, and mostly do not think logically. The large majority of mistakes are assigned to coaching when execution is probably more important. If a play doesn't work it was the coaches fault. All hindsight thinking that is biased toward the result.
As for credit, Garrett has won a lot of games against coaches trying to beat him. He is nearly 20 games over .500 and it's trending up in the last few years. Some would say he is winning in spite of his pedestrian QB, which is easily the most important position on the field.
Now, I completely understand that some fans are win the super bowl or bust each and every year. And clearly Garrett has not gotten it done. But I also am of the belief that he is a whole lot better than most (believe it or not). It is my opinion that the odds are the next coach Jones hires will not be as good as Garrett. So I am content to let this play out as I believe the team will continue to be a contender and I think soon, will be able to smash through the wall.
So I think I have found the issue. You and I have a vastly different opinion of the roster. Parity is the word of the day in the NFL. Unless you have an absolutely great QB, your team will go up and down to some degree.Right on, man, spelling is for little kids...
I don't think this is a matter of fans being Super Bowl or bust every year. It's been two and a half decades. I doubt most of us go in thinking Super Bowl. Dreaming, maybe.
I could say, in Garrett's defense, that the teams don't quit on him. That doesn't make him a good coach. And if he has proven anything, year after year, is that he can't outcoach anyone. We win with the pure talent on our teams, and make no mistake, we have had some serious talent on our teams in his tenure, talent that teams should be jealous of. It's go beat the guy across from you. And if they can't? It's a loss. There is no scheming. There are no adjustments. There is no creativity. There is no clock management. I'm not even saying we need a Bill Belichick to win, just someone who can scheme and elevate the talent we do have, and if we had that over the last 9 years, I firmly believe we have two more rings.
Like ours. There are some owners who don't care about winning a Super Bowl. They just want their teams to be competitive so that the fans stay hopeful and continue to buy products, goods and services from the team.
Garrett would be good for such a team and appealing to said team's owner.
I'm personally leaning towards the " tied up,taken away & held for Ransom ",,,but who knows?,,, as those are displayed characteristics of a person on the edge of the breaking point right before they go into full tilt boogie Stockholm syndrome mode,,,ya knowRemember, this is the guy that just claimed Jason is going to be extended as soon as the season is over based on Garrett’s performance, so what else is Ian going to sell?
Ian is probably getting paid by Jerry also..
But then again, the Jets just hides big-eyed Adam Gase. What was that eye-thing about? Cocaine?
Interesting.....
