Look man, I don't hate the idea. I just think there are better options out there worth pursuing. Why would you not look at college coaches that haven't proven anything in the NFL in favor of a guy that has been an NFL coach and hasn't proven anything? We really going to bring up ownership? You do know Jerry Jones is leading the circus around here, right?
I look at a guy who atbleast knows what it's like and what it takes. Not saying I wouldn't take a college coach, but Saleh wasn't given much and deserves at least 1 more chance his D was good with the 49ers l. Much like when we gave Quinn another chance. I thinknwe confused HCs sometimes with the coordinators. Reason I wanted ro give MM a chance was he was taking over playcallimg which would've showed what HE has. Same with Saleh

I would love to give him a second chance....as a coordinator, much like Quinn. I wouldn't be angry if he ends up being the guy, and I absolutely agree that he wasn't given a fair shot, but the game dictates that if you fail, you drop down a notch and work your way back up. I think he could do great things with this defense, especially if we manage to grab a couple of good hogs up front. I'm just not convinced he should get a HC gig right after flaming out in NY. He butted heads with ownership and Rodgers. Good for him for standing his ground, but is it really going to be much different here with JJ and Dak? That's my concern.

Because Jerry isn’t going to hire a guy without NFL experience. Im only giving credence to Johnson, assuming you meant Ben, but even that is a long shot since Jerry has said he prefers not only NFL experience but HC experience.

I’m sure at least one of those gusy has a good shot at making in the NFL. Just not here.
I did mean Ben Johnson, yes. Jerry needs to understand that his preferences are holding this franchise back from taking the next step. His Super Bowls were won by coaches with no NFL experience. I have no idea why he's stuck in this loop of retreads. Parcells was a smart move. We needed a cultural rebuild and he corrected course. Second best hire of JJ's tenure as GM. He tempered that momentum by hiring Wade, a great defensive mind, but a weak leader. He screwed up even worse with his decade long science experiment in Garrett, who had very limited coaching experience btw.

McCarthy was a safe hire. He moved the needle a bit and we saw some maintained consistency, but postseason results didn't change. We need a guy that will inspire these guys. Sure, they fought for Mike and Q, but we need a guy that these guys will go to war for every Sunday. Marcus Freeman and Dan Lanning are those guys. Leaders of men with heart, passion, and fire. Another safe hire won't do anything. There isn't a single retread out there that can inspire this team like these guys, and surely JJ has to see this. Belichick maybe could've been that guy, but the Jones clan was too slow and showed no urgency. Hopefully they don't wait until all of the good ones are snatched up before making a move. Saleh is a step in the right direction, but there are stronger coaching prospects out there. The front office just needs to pick up the phone and make the calls. That's literally the only thing standing in the way of a bright future in Dallas. Hopefully JJ sobers up long enough to figure it out.

You all know That Jerry & The Cowboys Are Bigger Headlines In The News Than The Upcoming Playoffs..

Jerry Has Them Where He Wants Them "TOP Headlines" And Jerry Is Just Getting Started..I Wish This Man Would Just Go Away..

So Be prepared that this is going to be a long drawn out process and that it won't be announce until SB Week for Cowboys New HC..That's Jerra For You..He Loves The BIG Headlines To Control The Narrative..

yeah he waited to the deadline to say he wasnt hiring MM lol. Stabbed him in the back by not letting him interview with the bears.
There is no telling what the jones clowns will do, but they will drag it out and get as much media attention as possible.

In what world do you think Jerry is going to hire someone and give them power? Whoever is the next coach will be a yes man. There’s no avoiding it when Jerry is essentially the judge, jury and executioner
Most head coaches do not general manage and Jerry certainly doesn't scheme or call plays. Even McCarthy stated that he got more input regarding players and coaches than he did with the Packers. He actually preferred it. However team owners rightfully and usually are not GMs either. No objectivity or accountability in that dual psychological self-serving role. The Cowboys have an inept upper management group with a limited football IQ and when Jerry as the owner/GM makes his usual myopic personnel decisions along with his financial-centric executive son Stephen, the results are team development mediocre and cap management erratic or destructive. Jerry is ancient in years and that is a liability not an asset even as a GM figurehead.
