It's a little off topic from this thread, but I'm really interested in seeing what Osa does get in free agency. On the plus side, he's 26, injury free, and has put in 3 virtually identical seasons, so he's a really proven quantity. On the minus side, he's more of a pressure guy than a sack guy and sucks against the run. Curious to see what that's going to pencil out to.

Anyway, his contract will be a fraction of Micah's.
He and gholston. I think they will get more than fans think. They aren’t super stars but are solid players

Keep in mind they just signed Dak to an extension ($60M) of $5M more than the highest-paid QB ( Burrow $55M ). Reports are Parsons is asking for a similar deal. Bosa is highest paid defensive ($34M) and Parsons is reportedly looking $40M, that's $6M which would definitely reset the market. In other words, Dallas would have players whose contracts reset the market but STILL need a bunch of more players/talent.
This is why IMO Jerry and Stephen may pause a bit if Parsons insist on getting $40M. Hell, $35M would make him the highest paid.......should that be enough?
The Jones idiots backed this franchise in a corner by breaking the bank for an average QB. Big money should go to a player in their prime that is one of the best at the position. Dak might not even be top 10 and they paid him top money overall. Get used to seasons like this with the Dak contract.

It's all about the QB whether you go to the payoffs-superbowl or not and we do not have this on the roster at this time. Mahomes, Allan, Stafford, Jackson, Rogers, Brady, then brady again, etc....................Having a Micah on these teams was not gonna change the outcome. We have a Dak problem so with or without Micah makes no diff........
Imagine paying a QB $60 million a year and they still don't have a top QB on this roster?

and that might just be the most sobering comment about this season. Jerry and Stephen need to be held completely accountable for this mess.

So his floor is a former dpoy. Something he's never done. Got it
Yes, that's called reality. Top 5 players usually get above or near record contracts especially with the cap increasing every season.

He's finished 2nd and 3rd place for dpoy the last 2 seasons so nobodies gonna knock him for being near the top but not quite the top.

Anything other than 2 firsts and a second and the front office is run by trolls trying to get a reaction
No team can afford to give up that kind of draft capital for Micah and afford to pay him the $25 - $30 million per season he’ll be seeking.

This is just my take but I definitely think this has legs. It could be Jerry and Stephens's early message on how far they will go or else..........
Keep in mind, IF they decide to trade him

*** It will likely be to a team that already has a franchise QB
*** Def before the draft coz things could get toxic if he's forced to play next season w/o a new deal
*** There is no way his new team makes a trade w/o a pre-trade contract agreement
*** Parsons's leverage will be his refusal to sign any new deal unless he gets what he wants ( his choice of team and contract terms ). New could still make the trade and have him for three years (5th-year option (2025) and 2 tags ( 2026 and 2027) ) before making a drop dead decision.
*** Nick Bosa is currently the highest-paid defensive player........ ( $34M ...$122M guaranteed ). Likely Parsons floor.......
*** For contract neg.....is he an LBer or a DE? It matters.......

The Cowboys are trying to stay in the news as always. Just another way the Joneses will have the Cowboys leading off the talk show circuit. I hope they trade him so the Cowboys will get exactly what they deserve.

1 st cap hit can be vet min + prorated signing bonus. The team can afford it.

If he's still dominating restructure as need be.

It's not rocket science on how to afford players. The cap is going up every year

Mack was traded for more and given a big contract. I guarantee there will be a team out there that would.
That was five years ago. It won’t happen anymore. 1st and 2nd round picks are how teams add talent whose compensation is controlled for four years. It allows teams to improve while being able to afford the stars they’ve already signed. In addition, the draft has become a spectacular show. No owner is going to deny their fans participating in the excitement of the draft process. Look at how many future first have been traded right now. Zero. And 29 teams have a 2nd round pick in 2025, they all have their 2nds in 2026.

The teams that have traded significant draft capital for a player in recent years all regret it. No GM is going to make that mistake anymore. Micah might be used to move up in the first round, but the team trading for him is going to want Dallas’ first along with him. There is no team dumb enough to give up draft capital for Micah Parsons without getting some in return.

I guarantee there is no team out there that will give up three 1sts for Micah Parsons.
