He and gholston. I think they will get more than fans think. They aren’t super stars but are solid players
right who did good in a CONTRACT SEASON, they'll get the usual top or decent free agent deals and we won't want to match that price, and they'll sign on the first day of FA

That was five years ago. It won’t happen anymore. 1st and 2nd round picks are how teams add talent whose compensation is controlled for four years. It allows teams to improve while being able to afford the stars they’ve already signed. In addition, the draft has become a spectacular show. No owner is going to deny their fans participating in the excitement of the draft process. Look at how many future first have been traded right now. Zero. And 29 teams have a 2nd round pick in 2025, they all have their 2nds in 2026.

The teams that have traded significant draft capital for a player in recent years all regret it. No GM is going to make that mistake anymore. Micah might be used to move up in the first round, but the team trading for him is going to want Dallas’ first along with him. There is no team dumb enough to give up draft capital for Micah Parsons without getting some in return.

I guarantee there is no team out there that will give up three 1sts for Micah Parsons.
You may be right on teams not wanting to do that anymore. That's fine. Just as long as they are ok with not getting the player. The floor on a player like parsons still on his rookie contract is 2 first round picks. If a team doesn't want to give that up, then they don't want the player.

This is just my take but I definitely think this has legs. It could be Jerry and Stephens's early message on how far they will go or else..........
Keep in mind, IF they decide to trade him

*** It will likely be to a team that already has a franchise QB
*** Def before the draft coz things could get toxic if he's forced to play next season w/o a new deal
*** There is no way his new team makes a trade w/o a pre-trade contract agreement
*** Parsons's leverage will be his refusal to sign any new deal unless he gets what he wants ( his choice of team and contract terms ). New could still make the trade and have him for three years (5th-year option (2025) and 2 tags ( 2026 and 2027) ) before making a drop dead decision.
*** Nick Bosa is currently the highest-paid defensive player........ ( $34M ...$122M guaranteed ). Likely Parsons floor.......
*** For contract neg.....is he an LBer or a DE? It matters.......

A good GM should never rule out trading anyone.

Team success has to always be the priority.

The Cowboys let what, a dozen vets walk away last offseason? I doubt any veteran is comfortable here, even those who should be. And with Micah, he knows he's going to get a king's ransom. It's not like Jones can intimidate him.

IMO, Stephen & Jerry hate the thought of cutting a $60 million check or whatever it will be for Micah's bonus, and that's the genesis of the Micah comments, not anything more.
If the FO got several draft picks to fortify their needs next year, saving that awful expense in so doing, it might easily be too tempting to avoid. The rest of the team knows as long as that temptation even exists, their futures could easily be in danger, also. This FO is all about the money and the Cowboys' players are certainly aware of it. Jerry & Son have already proven they really aren't above making such cold decisions.

If Micah is not traded, what’s the chance he’s willing to resign with Dallas? I could see him holding out for a contender like the Eagles, even if it’s for less than what the Cowboys are willing to offer.

we lose with him what's the difference, there's games where his stats aren't anything!
IMO the jones boys and MM ruined micah, after a real good rookie year , he was anointed by them and media and it all went to his head.
Now he just shows up and plays, and talks alot, gets mad and leaves early etc.
He probably takes it easy after he gets paid.

I would rather have a guy who is less talented but more into the game.
Micah knows he can do whatever he wants here, and that is not good.

They wont trade him, but they are so cheap may not want to pay what he wants either lol. no telling what happens.
I predicted 55 mil for dak way before he signed, then said he may get 60 and he did.
I can see micah asking for 50, then saying he doesnt play for the $ lol.

2025 is his 5th year option year. His pay for the 2025 season is over $21 million on the option. The Cowboys may not want him for $21 million, let alone even more. And he’s already indicated he will not play on that option so, in effect, his rookie contract is over. No one will trade for him. That is Cowboys fan fantasy. Just dreaming up any possible way to catch Philly and Washington. (or hoping just to stay ahead of the Giants). A fourth place finish next season is more likely than 1st or 2nd.

I realize that Parsons has only played like 10 games, but per pure stats, it seems like he has fallen off a ledge this year.

If they gonna stay in a 4-3 D and continue to use him rushing from the strong side or make him a LBer, then trade him.

If they go 3-4 and put him back at his natural position, then you sign him - only if the price isn’t too outrageous.
Without a QB it's all just window dressing. Neither he nor the team will get meaningful results if he stays here.

If this front office decided to go with Dak over Micah Parsons then I am sorry I will gratefully bow out and stop watching football...can't stomach another team but this ideocracy by the front office shouldn't be witnessed by a human
