Well, I'd have to watch those 2 plays again, but if he "could have scored" he really faked it well.

If that's the case, why not just have Eli take a knee instead of giving it to the running back where he could have been stripped, not buying it. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

Sounds like someones worried about jersey sales.

I don't like Coughlin but he isn't THAT dumb is he?

Coughlin didn't make the call, but given he wears a headset, he had the ability to trump the call and he didn't.

It's maddening to me that this QB and this coach have two Super Bowl rings.

Coughlin is a proven coach, abet inconsistent at times. He is 24 games over .500 for his career with 2 Super Bowls, 2 Conference Championships, and 5 time Divisional Champs over his career between Jacksonville and New York.

Nothing about that makes sense. Somebody's lying or somebody's tanking cuz not even stupidity explains any of that strategy.

Does anybody really believe this guy is making this stuff up? They obviously told him not to score. Do you think he would lie for no reason. For him to flat out lie about that would certainly result in his release.

I understand getting greedy and trying to score on third down after making DAL use 2 timeouts, but throwing on third is indefensible.

I think they were so confident that the Cowboys defense was going to sell out vs. the run on that third down, it was going to be the simplest little pass. Yes, if they told him not to score on 1st and 2nd, they were clearly focusing on the clock at that point and then some time between 2nd and 3rd down, they changed their minds. LOL.

If it's any consolation to Giants' fans, Romo would have scored with only 45 seconds on the clock too. LOL.

I don't necessarily think throwing on third is indefensible (although I would surely not have done it), but Eli throwing it out of bounds, now that's indefensible.

I'm not buying it, but if they did tell him not to score then they're complete idiots. I'm pretty sure the Cowboys defense had plenty to do with him "not scoring" on 1st and 2nd down anyways.

Yup, and if they had handed him the ball on 3rd down, he wasn't going anywhere. There were a couple of Cowboys defenders just waiting to say hi to him in the hole.

It just seems unlikely that Eli would do this without the OK from Tom Coughlin, and Coughlin is a good coach who knows that a 10 point lead with two minutes left in the game is money.

I don't know what is more stupid...them telling him not to score....or him telling the media/fans/public.....that he was told not to score.

New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings confirmed Monday that he was ordered not to score on two run plays inside the Dallas Cowboys' 5-yard line with less than two minutes left in Sunday night's game and the Giants leading by three.

"On the first-down play, I was told, 'Rashad, don't score,'" Jennings said. "On second down, 'Rashad, don't score.' I was tempted to say, 'Forget it,' and go score because I could. But I didn't want to be that guy. But definitely, I was asked not to score."

I don't have the link readily available to cite my source...

But it was Romo who told him not to score. Romo said, don't score, I'll do it!

So the guy on my local radio station is saying that Eli is the one who told him not to score? If true I guess Eli wasn't thinking last night. Between this and throwing the ball on 3rd down.

Makes no sense as the only reason to do this would be to take all the time off the clock. Totally inconsistent with throwing on 3rd down.

Yes, which means they panicked and changed their minds, mid-series. Not good. For them. LOL.
