They would have went up by two scores, I'm not buying it.
There is something out of context here.

I can not imagine them not wanting him to score.

Maybe don't score Too Quickly in order to drain some time off the clock..

Something is not right with his statement.

Makes no sense as the only reason to do this would be to take all the time off the clock. Totally inconsistent with throwing on 3rd down.

Yup.
They threw because...They wanted to score.
They believed they would score.

It was personal...they paid the price.

Just like Carrol, it was personal. He wanted to show the patriots. They paid the price.

Yes, which means they panicked and changed their minds, mid-series. Not good. For them. LOL.

Yeah, when the Cowboys took their 3rd timeout at 1:43, that would have come as a big surprise to Eli, and maybe he felt like the only way to fix it was to throw a touchdown pass since we had been stuffing his running game. Panic would certainly explain it.

New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings confirmed Monday that he was ordered not to score on two run plays inside the Dallas Cowboys' 5-yard line with less than two minutes left in Sunday night's game and the Giants leading by three.

Yup, wish we had a camera trained on his face when we took that. It seems the fact that we still had that 3rd timeout came as quite a shock to him. He said to himself "But Romo with 45 seconds left is nearly as dangerous as Romo with 1:30 left, we need to score!" The awesomeness of Romo flustered Eli, that's all there is to it.

The odds of losing a game with a 10pt lead, with less than 2mins to go, and two timeouts remaining for the opposing team has to be extremely slim. I would imagine every coach in the league wants a TD in that situation.

The opposing team needs to score quickly, recover an onside kick and score again. Odds are clearly against them.

On top of that if draining the clock is your goal, then why pass on 3rd down when the other team is out of timeouts?

Their HC already said he never told him to not score. So Jennings is making it up or listening to some random lineman and running the play correctly (it looked like he was trying). Also, even if it did happen, why bring it up and throw your coaches/teammates under the bus for such a stupid decision ?

People are stunned we won because of the turnover differential. If we don't turn the ball over 3 times on bad luck plays then we win by 3+ touchdowns.

The Giants are just simply awful. Beckham was basically a non factor too which had to completely end collinsworths life. I like Chris as a commentator but his love fest with Odell is pathetic and it's shocking NBCs producer doesn't somehow step in and say something. It's seriously that bad

Eli Manning takes blame for telling Rashad Jennings not to score

http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story...ys-was-told-not-score-end-dallas-cowboys-game

"I thought they had one timeout left and they might let us score to get the ball back," Manning said on a conference call Monday. "So I told Rashad, 'Go down at the 1-inch line and don't score.'

"This did not come from the sideline. It was me, and I was wrong. I cannot be the one in that situation to inform a back. That's not my decision, in that scenario. I made a mistake."

It was Eli and some of the OL. Eli already took the blame.

They should've just taken a knee if that was the strategy. I think Eli simply choked mentally. Because if your mindset is to burn clock, why on Earth are you throwing the ball on 3rd down. he could've easily taken a dive at the 3 yard line. Cowboys would've been left with 50 or so seconds instead of 85-90

Agreed.

The whole direction of the Gints in a critical moment was just completely broken down from coaches to QB to RB.

Reminds me of something we might have done in Garrett's early years.

Unexplainable.
