Inglorious Basterds 6/10.

I felt it was entertaining, but it definitely shouldn't win any awards. I would have given it a 7, but it was another movie that suffered from the "anything over 2 hours is too long!" category along with QT's long slow dialogs. One thing that was clear from the get go, Quentin Tarantino was watching Hogan's Heros when he came up with the idea. (came up? more or less copied the premise)

The fact that it was **** based, comedy styling, and filming style all screamed Hogan's Heros.

its actually a remake

Edge of Darkness------------7/10

Typical Gibson movie, a man experiences a personal loss in the hands of others and seeks revenge.

Edit: The shaving scene with his daughter was both cute and touching.

Wolfman - 5/10

It was kinda goofy. The Wolfman looked about like it did in the 30s. You'd think after 70 years, we'd be able to create a better Wolfman.

A Serious Man - 0/10. This ranks right there with Bruno for the worst film I've seen in the last year, though they suck for completely different reasons. This movie wasn't interesting, wasn't funny, and was completely pointless and stupid. Boring, boring, boring.

I may check it out now.

Hurt Locker - 9/10

Probably the best of the Best Picture Noms that I've seen.

Very good documentary about Enron.

I wish Best Buy had that one. The one in the town next to me might.

Food Inc. - 2/10. I'll be honest and say I only watched about 45-50 minutes of this before stopping. I wasn't feeling good that night and had to stop. That said, I was bored out of my skull the entire time I was watching it. Another piece of stupid drivel that tries to pass itself off as a documentary, but is anything but.

Strange. People like you are why the food industry gets away with putting the crap they do in food because they don't care about it. That movie was a 10, one of the best of the year and very educational.

What part didn't you like?

didn't matter to me [bit of a WWII buff, don't think much of Brad Pitt tho]

the acting of the SS Colonel and the bar scene, plus the action, esp in the theatre, were all superb

I don't consider myself a Tarantino die hard either. It was just a great movie.

It wasn't your typical QT flick. This one was diff. than anything he's ever done.

I recently watched Food, Inc. and also thought it was pretty good. I wouldn't give it a 10/10, but I did think that it tackled some important issues. It seems like a lot of people are under the impression that, if it's allowed to be marketed and sold, then it's fine to eat. That's just not the case.

While I don't have any background in chemical food additives, pesticides, hormones, etc. I do have a couple of roommates who are connected to nutrition, health and the effects of chemicals on the human body. One is a PhD student in toxicology and the other is a med. student. Their daily conversations really changed the way that I shop for food and the movie touched on a number of the same issues.

Which is why I don't get why someone would be so turned off by it unless they are just towing the corporate line for the food industry or just aren't interested in learning or just don't care about their health....

Just seems strange.

It was like Reservoir Dogs IMO. A lot of dialogue and ****fting back and forth to different scenes. But a lot more action.

So the food industry gets away with stuff because of people who find one sided movies about said industry to be....one side and very boring?

It was the type of crap I watched in elementary and high school. I wasn't turned off on the subject matter, I was turned off by the incredibly awful and boring presentation. And when you get to the subject matter it was presented in a remarkably one sided way. It would make a point about something, and then later make some other point, completely ignoring their original point which explains why their second point is no big deal at all.

To make it simpler, boring, boring, boring, and one sided is what I didn't like about it.

And as for what I thought was relevant of the movie, during the first 45-50 minutes, the only point they made that I would even care about is the safety factor.

Can you explain the portion in bold? Such as ____ ? And what was one-sided about it?

Yeah, in a way I see what you're saying. But I think it was his best movie ever. I watched it not knowing it was a QT flick. Then, about 1/3rd of the way through, I told my wife this has to be a QT flick. Sure enough, it was. I too think it is one of the best movies ever made.
