Rate the last movie you saw

That's what I've been wondering ever since I saw it. It had a few funny moments, but overall it just wasn't that great. Zombieland was much funnier throughout the entire film.

Same thing with Hot Fuzz, a few great funny scenes, the rest, just kinda meh. Two of the most overrated "comedies" in recent years.

Thank you.

It was solid and very watchable but no one can ever tell me whats so funny about it

Avatar 6/10

I'm baffled that Avatar was nominated for best picture. Visually, the movie is spectacular, breathtaking, and any other superlative you want to attach to it. It also held my interest (more or less) for the entire two and half hours. But I fail to see what it offers beyond eye candy and indoctrination into the Hollywood worldview. The plot was hackneyed, and the characters were cookie-cutter.

This.

Although It only managed to hold my interest for about half the movie.

If The Blind Side and District 9 are nominated, then surely Avatar deserves a nomination for best picture.

Having not seen District 9, I can't comment on it. The Blind Side was a good movie that effectively conveyed the importance of compassion and opportunity, but it didn't strike me as best picture material either.

At the very least, Avatar and The Blind Side are better than American Beauty, which was unwatchable in my opinion.

It was an uncomfortable subject/topic for sure but I thought it was a great movie.

Its really fun reading the diversity of opinions on all these movies. Great thread.

We should have another one just for books as well. Maybe we had started one a few months back, i seem to recall reading or commenting on a thread.

Not! ;)

Loved the Blind Side and can't wait to see Avatar and Valnetine's Day!

Extraordinary Measures 7/10!

The Carriers - 3/10

I just couldn't get into this movie, at all. It was very boring and just seemed to be very randomly dragging on and on and on and on. And the reality was that it wasn't a very long movie, thankfully, and yet it still seemed to just drag on and on.

There was just too much of it that seemed incredibly pointless and had no real reason to be part of the movie.

Food Inc. - 2/10. I'll be honest and say I only watched about 45-50 minutes of this before stopping. I wasn't feeling good that night and had to stop. That said, I was bored out of my skull the entire time I was watching it. Another piece of stupid drivel that tries to pass itself off as a documentary, but is anything but.

"what women want"

7/10

cute but not great. my husband loves it though.

I just finished watching The Hurt Locker.

10/10. I highly reccomend it.

Thank Michael Moore for that particular trend in documentary movie making.:D

Inglourious Basterds.

Had its moments, but there were some reeeeeaaaaaal dry spells.

6/10

Amercian Beauty was distrubing, but cleverly done, with very good acting too...imo

Nevertheless, it is a movie I will not watch a second time.

Speaking of disturbing movies, I couldn't last more than 15 or 20 minutes when I attempted to watch the movie 'Kids' (i believe it came out in the mid 90s). I had heard that it was a good movie but whoa......I couldn't do it.

Miserably depressing movie. I did like Bully though, even with it's main premise not withstanding, was also a pretty dismal look into the lives of some kids. Larry Clark has the ability to pretty much sum it up in all it's ugliness. No glamour what so ever.
