Took the kids to see the new Shrek movie. The scene with kid that wanted to "hear the roar" was pretty funny, but that was really it for me.

2 of 10 for me and the wife
8 of 10 for my six and three year old. They LOVED it.

youll notice SJs character in the lower left

Does this mean we can look forward to Ben Afleck's appearance in the Avengers movie as Daredevil?

observe and report-7/10

way better than i thought it was going to be. the only thing that took me out of it was him beating all the drug dealers and lasting as long against the cops as he did. also wayyyy too long for the naked running.

i can see why some people dont like it but i guess i get that type of comedy.

looks like right now theyve got iron man, war machine, hulk, thor, loki, black widow, ant man, and captain america. and i guess the hulk talks in this one cause lou farrigno is his voice lol

looking over the charactor list of the avengers, it doesnt look like daredevil was ever a member so nothing to worry about.

also, spiderman, wolverine, the fantastic 4, silver surfer, and tigra are all more popular characters that could be added in the mix

Inglorious Basterds - 6/10.

Not much of a story-line and didn't seem to know where it was going.

NOT Tarantino's best offering for sure!

Les diaboliques (1955)------8.5/10

Great movie, excellent plot and suspensful without any gimicks.

I'm not sure if its true but i read somewhere that Alfred Hitchcock wanted to buy the story after he read the book but was 30 minutes too late. Henri-Georges Clouzot beat him to it and did a masterful job.

On a side note, I wonder if Peter Falk got the idea for his character Colombo from this movie.

Trick 'r Treat -- 7.5/10

Creepy. It's told in a Crash-like, intersecting story-line type of way. It's also a mixture of Halloween and Ginger Snap movies.

As an aside, Anna Paquin is so freakin hawt!

cat on a hot tin roof

10/10

i just love this classic movie. paul newman & elizabeth taylor are both brilliant in this. if there had been an oscar for "best on-screen couple" those two should've won it.

I liked the movie too, but I didn't find it particularly creepy. It reminded me of halloween ghost stories when I was a kid, they were supposed to be scary but you ended up doing more laughing than anything else.

Get Him to the Greek 8/10

A good & funny movie that is similar to the Hangover with Forgetting Sarah Marshall thrown in. Slow in a few portions that make it kinda excruciating but the laughs make up for it. Some will not like it b/c Russell Brand's humor isn't for everyone. Overall I thought it was a good laugh but could use work in some parts.

Prince of Persia 6.5/10

Action scenes were pretty good and they get a 1.5 bump for Gemma Aterton alone. Story line was decent but lacked in parts. Overall it was like any other action movie, gotta find this thing while outrunning the bad guys in order to save the world. I kinda got bored halfway through and they only thing that kept me in it was Gemma Aterton.

Killers 6/10

Predictable plot that is easy to figure out and almost seems like a spin off of the whole Mr & Mrs Smith kinda story line of spys meet suburban, so those cliche jokes are old. Ashton Kutcher as a spy is not very believable and you essentially know the ending by about 30-40 minutes in. Lots of cheesy moments and the stunts are ok. Plus the idiot teenage audience who kept goofing off and trying to act all gangster in the back didn't help either.

Okay, I agree he may not has been successful with his witty banter, but they at least did attempt it.

As for the editing...which escaping/in the desert with the princess part are you referring to? They did that about 5 or 6 times. The first time? It was definitely sudden.

Must've been the same editing team that did Transformer's 2. They're in the Air and Space Museum in D.C., open a door, end up in Arizona.

Precious - 8/10

Pretty messed up movie, but I have a feeling the book is better. Monique definately deserved the Oscar for her work here.
