Prince of Persia - 7/10

It was what I expected it to be. I liked it but just barely, and I wasn't expecting much. Luckily the acting isn't terrible or it would have been an absolute bomb cause the story line is pretty damn flimsy.

Gemma Arterton looks super hot with dark hair and a tan, way better than she looked in Quantum of Solace.

Some of the editing was pretty confusing, and they don't do much in the way of seasoning the characters but it wasn't as bad as it could have been, that's for sure.

If you've played the game you know the prince is witty and extremely sarcastic, I don't think they played that up nearly enough.
yeah i didnt think jake would be the guy to pull that off, disappointing to hear im right.

but hey a 7/10 is easily the best movie based on a video game lol

'This is it'----------4/10

I'm so glad i didn't pay to see this at the theaters. People made a big deal out of this and i don't see why. On a side note, it's really alarming how some people treated this guy as a demigod.

Precious----- 9/10

Excellent movie. Sad, disturbing, and thought provoking.

Ironman 2------------6/10

Not nearly as good as the first.

Bit of a cliche to make trusted partner Jeff Bridges the heavy? And why was an Air Force officer always speaking for the company at press conferences? You seldom see that in real life.

Never mind the flying robot suit that shoots rockets and lasers.

Him surviving that first crash in the desert (in the prototype suit) was utterly preposterous, but it's popcorn movie after all.

That's funny, I noticed it all throughout the movie, and thought it was much more saturated with him attempting to be witty and sarcastic than the game ever was.

I thought the action was pretty good, and there was lots of it. The acting was okay (some were good, others were awful). The editing was slightly sloppy, but not too bad. The story was very simplistic and doesn't add a lot to the film, but it didn't take anything away either.

My main gripe though is the lame attempt to throw American politics into it on several occassions, really takes you out of the film.

Other than that though, I thought it was easily the best video game adaptation that's been made, and really the one that is the most grounded in said game (The first Tomb Raider did this part well too, but wasn't as good overall).

All in all, I'd say it's a pretty solid action adventure movie - 7.5/10.

Rourke wasn't the least bit menacing/scary, and his demise at the end seemed a little too simple. I also seriously doubt that a US Senator would yell "**** you" at a witness on live TV. Sam Jackson and Scarlet Johannson? Pointless star power.

I recently saw a preview for "Human Centipede". It is out on DVD. Heard it was horrible and I have no plans on seeing it, but if you want to be grossed out watch the preview.

I saw it. It's not poorly made or anything. The acting by the main character is actually pretty good. There's really no redeeming value in it though. You won't walk away from it feeling good about the universe.

So, I wouldn't want to watch it again, but it's not terrible.

Lmao....I have to bite my tongue every time I see something like that....

It bothers me in some of my favorite movies....i.e. where a driod gets buried in the sand up to his ankles after falling out of Jabba's floating casino ship....still bothers me to this day.

You want to watch something truly preposterous? Time the plane crash scene in Con Air. ****ing ridiculous.....but I hate that movie anyway.

I can suspend my disbelief to some extent, but sometimes I'm just like "Oh for the love of god!"

FYI, people don't like it when you do that in the theater....

Often....but it's usually when I go in without knowing what movie I'm about to watch, only to find out its Nick Cage's next "movie"...I hesitate to call them that.

At that point I usually stand up and flick off the audience as they deserve it for knowing what they were getting themselves into, or for not warning me.....it's not cool to contribute to Cage's wealth/debt.

Jesus...don't get me started on that POS movie. I'd kick Ford in the berries if I could. Talk about ruining a movie franchise....

I actually thought silent hill was great... up until the point in the movie where it got terrible.

But yeah, Prince of Persia was probably up there as far as video game movies go.

I may not have been clear as far as the wit, I think they TRIED, but he just wasn't particularly witty. I think you need a guy that carries himself a particular way to pull off the roguish prince type of character and I don't think Jake was it.

I forgot to mention the editing. Was I the only one that was completely discombobulated by the cut where they go from the prince escaping to him suddenly on the run with the princess in the desert? It didn't seem like that scene was supposed to go there at all, at least not at that particular moment.

Okay, I agree he may not has been successful with his witty banter, but they at least did attempt it.

As for the editing...which escaping/in the desert with the princess part are you referring to? They did that about 5 or 6 times. The first time? It was definitely sudden.

Prince of Persia: I would say 7.5, but since I like to use whole numbers, I bump it up and give it 8 of 10

I knew it would be graphically cool, but I was expecting some parts of it that were completely stupid. Sort of like the way they mangled the Dungeons and Dragons movie, except that movie was total mangulation! ( yes, a new word! )

Obviously, much of the acrobatics were over the top, etc but it was a fun movie to watch and for that, I enjoyed Price of Persia.
