I just watched "Resistance", the true story about Marcel Marceau, the famous mime, and what he did in WWII to save children the ****'s were trying to eliminate. This story should have been told a long time ago and while France honored the man, the entire free world should have.

I never knew anything about this, so yeah, you're right!

Joker......props to Phoenix for losing all that weight and pulling off the part of an insane person, but the movie pretty much sucked.

Birds of Prey...4/10

I did not see The Suicide Squad and I'm not familiar with the comic so I watched the movie with no preconceived ideas. I just did not like this movie. If you were a male in this movie you were either wimpy, evil, not loyal, and easily beaten by a woman, or all of those faults combined. It didn't matter if the men you were beating up were twice the size of the heroine(s) and the men had guns blazing, they were going to get their butts kicked by an empowered female. Even the head evil crime lord was a whiney thug. If it's a superhero movie I can put away the believability at the door and even though this was a comic book movie I couldn't stop shaking my head during the movie. Just stupid IMO.

And that's a big reason why it was a miserable failure.

Haven't seen it, but the forced women's empowerment thing has been played out for me. You can't get away from it. A little 115 pound woman spends a few weeks in training and takes on well trained military lifers.

My wife loves Harley Quinn because of that female empowerment angle. She was a Wonder Woman fan and I took her to all the DC films which she loved, but I wasn't expecting the Harley love, so now I make sure I take her to the Quinn movies too. Or at least get the early releases on our big screen. Happy wife, happy life.

I just watched Black Widow. You wanna show your wife some female empowerment, that's pretty much all the movie is about.

I though they handled it pretty well in that film. I didn't feel like it was hitting me over the head with a hammer to do it. Unlike that forced scene in Avengers: Endgame. Yeesh!

I didn't really feel it until the last 15 minutes or so, with all the Widows, and Dreykov's daughter beating the Hell out of Red Guardian. That's like saying Natasha would beat the Hell out of Captain America.[spoiler/]
And I definitely agree about the scene in Endgame.

I didn't have a problem with the Red Guardian thing. That dude was a mess for decades anyway and way out of shape. He was more of a comedy act than a serious superhero. No matter what he said!

There were a lot of really funny moments in that movie.

Do both of you subscribe to HBO Max? Harley Quinn has a cartoon series on the streaming service. Harley is voiced by Kaley Cuoco. The show has two seasons and the first three or four episodes are a little slow but overall I found the show hilarious.

Heavy Metal 2000 - 4/10 The story was bland, the animation was so-so, the only half decent lines of dialogue were rip offs of good movies ("Next time you kill a man, make sure he's dead."), and the music wasn't even good. I'd recommend not even watching it out of curiosity.
