Every once in a while you would have a slow crappy soprano's episode. Like one where tony is day dreaming or whatever.
.

I hated the one where he had been shot by Uncle Jun and while he was in a coma he was in a dream where he traveled to California for a waste management seminar, gotten his briefcase mixed up with someone else's, and had to wander around the entire episode pretending to be the other guy. Actually, it may have been two episodes. It got old really fast.

So it sounds like it's not worth subbing to HBO just to see the movie. I'll try to remember to watch it next time I sub for something else.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a Sopranos episode, but the one that I remember snoozing was the ‘what felt like’ 30-45 minute shootout in the snow forest between Tony’s nephew, Polly and I guess it was the Russian mafia?

8.25 of 10.00

Was a little disappointed in Rami Malek's performance but the rest was a blast for this Bond fan.

I just got back from seeing it and really enjoyed it. I’ll go a tick above your number and go 8.5 out of 10.

A bit convoluted in trying to connect a through line but an enjoyable ride with great action sequences and physicality. I can certainly see why Craig decided to walk away. The physical demands of the role are apparent.

I echo your thanks to him for a great run.

The Poughkeepsie Taps - Had not heard of this one. Looked interesting.
Basically a mix of a mockumentary with a bit of found footage mixed in.

Seems a law enforcement agency found around 800 video tapes that a serial killer made with some have murders, tortures and other bizarre things recorded.
They show some of the tapes and they also show some interviews with various people and various law enforcement.

I thought it was an interesting concept but you could tell it was lower budget. This is one of those movies that might be better if it was redone with some tweaks. If you like horror movies and true crime type of things, this might be worth a watch if you can find it free or cheap.

I watched it a few years ago. It was amazing how many professional bass players couldn't play For Whom The Bell Tolls in the right key.

Saw No Time To Die last night. My Son is a big Daniel Craig Guy. I am more Connery - Moore. I wasn't blown away by the movie like was I was seeing the former two Bond Actors in a feature 007 film. Getting old I guess.

I'm not a huge James Bond fan, TBH, but I think Craig's portrayal suits the character better than all the karate chops to the neck. I love Sean Connery, but he didn't exude a tough guy image to me. I realize it was written that way, but I much prefer the more modern versions.

Tried to watch Free Guy last night.

I only lasted about 15 minutes before I had to turn it off.

I have the same thing with Roger Moore. The guy was so old by the time Bond opened up that he wasn’t able to handle the physical part. And the films became a tongue-in-cheek, shadow of their former selves.

I like that subsequent films brought that physical aspect back to the character. Unfortunately it shortens the actors’ lifespan in the role.

Many Saints of Newark, pretty much sucked unfortunately. No storyline at all. So unlike The Sopranos which I have seen at least 10 times start to finish. Usually throw in the Blu ray while I am working out. Characters continue to crack me up. All these years later.

Yeah, Moore's portrayal of Bond wasn't far off from his line in Cannonball Run. "I must warn you...I'm Roger Moore." lol

I read all of Ian Fleming's 007 novels and what missed in the theatrical versions was what he really was. The suave and debonair martini swilling ladies man gentleman was his disguise.

Bond was a stone cold killer without conscience or remorse. They picked the perfect psychopath to carry out their executions.

I don't think anyone has played the complexity that is 007 like Daniel Craig. He is far from invincible and has the psyche of a wounded animal.

As a huge fan of the original Halloween series, I was a big disappointed in Halloween 2018, until I watched it again. With that said Halloween Kills was awesome. I rate it right behind the original and before Halloween II. Definitely a good watch for fans of the original. 7 out of 10

Halloween Kills: 6/10. Started off great and just died on the vine after 30 minutes. Bad dialogue, acting, horrible plot. The score and kills were amazing though. Definitely worth a watch if you shut off your brain.

It seems every review I've read trash it, even the ones I usually line up with. It's odd to me that I enjoyed it as much as I did. Maybe I'm an outlier on this one.

Dune (2021) - 9/10

Amazing film. Typical gorgeous Denis Villeneuve fare. I was afraid it would drag for me like Blade Runner 2049, but my eyes were glued to the screen, even though the film was only part 1 of 2. I think I'll watch Dune (1984) again while I wait for the second one.
