I also liked Starbuck, simply because she was so bad***
Agreed. I had never heard of Katee Sackhoff before BSG but she made me a fan from jump. Just from memory...

Adama: "Starbuck. What do you hear?"
Starbuck: "Nothing but the rain!"

Best. Starbuck. Ever. My wife is a big fan of the Kirk Benedict's original role, so we occasionally argue who was the best Starbuck. Of course, I have seen BOTH series, several times, while my wife has only seen the original series. Just another example of not being able to have a rational conversation with one's better half.:laugh:

Yes, I've seen both series, the new version is darker, and Boomer and Starbuck definitely got better looking lol, the old Baltar was totally ruthless, and the new one was more like Dr. Smith imo, but the new Baltar got laid lol

Granted, the original series Baltar was the more ruthless one but he was able to get away with more stuff because the Cylons were dumb as heck. They should have killed him for the number of times he failed to stop the Galactica.

Baltar's fate was better in the series than in the movie that spawned it. The Cylons beheaded Baltar in the film.

Yes I remember the movie, I think the only Cylon that was just as devious as the old Baltar was his right hand man Lucifer lol

You know I have really liked all the Harry Potter movies and books. However the fantastic beast movies just doesn't have the same magic to them. There are a few cool things in them but they are just pale compared to thd Potter movies.

I liked the first beasts. I thought the suit case was the best thing in any harry potter movie. It was kind of like a personal wardrobe from the c s lewis books, but it was still a good idea. I thought the other 2 were horrible movies.

I rewatched avatar.

A 13 year old movie, on a 10 year old plasma, and it might be the highest quality of picture I have seen outside the theater. I have not watched any movies on 4k tvs, or of like quality at home, so I do not know how they compare.

I remember watching avatar another time on a high quality lcd and I thought it looked horrible and fake. I still like the last year or 2 models and pictures on the plasma's before they got discontinued. Everything looked real. My 2011 or12 highest quality samsung plasma had a really nice picture.

Greenland. HBO Max. Somehow missed this one. I’m a sucker for end of the world movies.

Anyways…. Great flick! Makes you want to hold on to your family. Would compare the experience similar to another underrated end of the world movie, Knowing, with Nicholas Cage.

Both worth watching!

Disappointing box office results and an uncertain future show that you’re not alone in your assessment. I liked the Harry Potter series as well but couldn’t get into Fantastic Beasts. I own the first two films in that series but to this day still haven’t watched the second one.

The one thing disappointing about the Fantastic Beast franchise is that there are more fantastic beasts in the Harry Potter franchise.

Milk that for the money seldom works in films.

My wife and I watched "The Lost City" with Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum and Brad Pitt... kind of a "Romancing the Stone" romantic comedy.

While the plot was predictable, it was good fun. I was struck by how good Sandra Bullock is with physical comedy.

6/10.

Have you ever seen The Heat, Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy? She does a good job in that too. It's honestly one of the funniest movies I've ever seen...Definitely in my top 10.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" (2022)

For me it seems to take about 3 viewings of MCU theater release for me to truly "get" the movie.

After the first viewing I'm left overwhelmed by the visuals, which tend to obscure the other parts of the film.

After the second viewing I have a pretty good understanding the story.

After the third viewing I've got the story down and "get" a lot of of the smaller details like the jokes.

I've watched this one once. And that was earlier this afternoon.

And yes, the visuals were stunning–Maybe even a touch overwhelming at times.

I understand the premise of the story, but I'm sure I'm not going to connect everything until after another viewing.

One thing I did catch and like, were the several tie-ins to the Thanos situation and the ramifications from that time period.

6/10

A good, watchable movie. Not anywhere close to being very-good to great IMO but I think after I viewed it another time or two I may raise that grade up a tad.

I pretty much echo your comments... I do think the special effects were, while absolutely spectacular, a bit much

Benedict Cumberbatch nailed his role
.. my wife refers to him as Benedict Cumber-buns.
