How is it not a 10/10? It's a classic. The multiple gratuitous "JCVD doing the splits" scenes, the "animal kung **" fighter, Bolo, the Stan Bush soundtrack, the 80's freezeframe ending, Ogre from Revenge of the Nerds, 80's board/brick breaking. It has it all.

Ha!... I'm not mad at your love for the film, it was definitely a film for the 80's young guy... my sister hated it! Hahaha... she would call it a 1/10!
Hey if it bring back memories, and fits the top of the scale in your grading system, thats awesome....
it definitely gets a 10/10 JCVD style!:D
FYI, did you ever see the JCVD movie? I heard a lot about it at the time it was supposed 2 drop, but nothing about it later... I may have to dig it up!

This one is for you Bob

FYI, Orge from Revenge of the Nerds! You're going to have to do more reviews!

great documentary filmed in true time of stanless steel..a very strong man indeed...it's obvious he has a slight mental disorder..but we all do..we just don't want to admit it.

the banter between him and his girlfriend throughout the show is really good.

this guy does amazing feats of strength..

it goes much deeper than that though.

it's on netflix...i highly recommend it.

i thought they could have done without wheeling out grandma who is almost in rigor mortis...

other than that...it is very well done.

I know it has been discussed, but "Godzilla". Finally watched it and I was underwhelmed. Am I the only one who thought the 1998(Broderick) film was better? When I see a movie like this, I expect action and fighting with intense scenes. I don't care about a story-line or if it is going to win some award, I want action!

The first half of the movie was a snooze fest but it picked up.......barely. What a disappointment......

Come on now, Godzilla(in every movie) is not that tall as to bring the Golden Gate Bridge to his belly , he is not a half-mile tall monster! (exaggerating a bit for those who want to measure).

Ok, rant is over. Wasted a couple of hours when I could have watched UCLA beat the livings out of Arizona St :(

Tracks 7.5/10

Based of the memoirs of Robyn Davidson, who trekked close to 2000 miles across the Australian desert, the Indian Ocean being her final destination. Beautifully shot, inspiring, and perfect for anyone with a nomadic soul...... Great performances by Mia Wasikowska, Adam Driver, and the many indigenous people casted to participate. A humbling, and engaging movie indeed.

The Equalizer 5.5/10

Hollywood gun for hire director (Antoine Fuqua).....check
Bankable Actor......check
Super Hero like persona, invincibility....... check
Damsel & and overweight people in distress......check
Steven Segal like martial arts, where time stands still for the enemy as they get their @$$ handed to them..... check
Quick cut close ups, slow motion, and walking away from explosions even slower..........check
Home Depot...... check

This very loose nod to The 80's campy television show of the same name, (and sometimes MacGyver), does its job: 2hrs of stylish fun and predictability...... Watch in awe as a 60 year old man takes down the entire Russian Syndicate, BY HIMSELF..... Stereotypes run rampant....... you will walk away saying "how silly", but its well made enough for you to finish your large popcorn, super sized coke...... Enjoy action junkies!

I would say action without at least a decent story, or characters that you care about a little, is incredibly boring. Which...kind of fits Godzilla. Even when there was action, I didn't care and was bored. But, no, the 1998 version was still worse IMO.

Case 39 (2009, horror, Renee Zellweger)

Man, that little girl playing Lillith did an okay job of playing demon child. Fairly decent effort in the film. Had some light chills.

Million Dollar Baby (Eastwood, Freeman, Swank)

How did I never see this one before? I know it was Best Picture like a decade ago but I somehow never saw it. My DVR had it recorded back in February or so and I just finally watched it. Wow, pretty good film. I do think the whole last third kind of dragged on a bit though.

One of Eastwood's best films as a director.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (2013)

Lena Heady is in this so that's why I decided to watch this film. It was okay. Fantastic difference in opinion between the critics and the public though. HUGE actually: 12% critics, 60% public.

Lots of action, you gots half angels, demons, werewolves, vampires, and a convoluted storyline that escaped me...probably has to do with this being one of those films that you have to constantly adjust the volume up and down, and I mean way up to hear the dialogue in many spots and way down do the the incredibly loud screams and general audio during action sequences. Never quite understood just what happened to Lena's character (the heoine's mom) in this film either.

12 Years A Slave

There are no words to express how epic, how masterful, this film is. Oh my.

On my knees bowing before this incredible, perfect presentation.

Easily, 10 out of 10

If you haven't, see "Hunger"... in my opinion that was Steve McQueen's (the director) best film.....

Steve McQueen is a Giant as a director.... He's known for "12 years a slave" by the american public because it was advertised......
but his first two films were terrific.... "Hunger" was amazing, and as I stated earlier, his best work imo.....

Hunger

Shame
