Sorry, but Samuels > Adams. At best, we can hope for a push.

I say push, even though in Samuel's best year, he never did what Flo did, allow a single sack, and against some pretty good pass rushers, in '03

I dont' think any of the coaches do great with adjustments, Reid doesn't run the football and couldn't counter when we stopped the blitz the 1st game

I don't know about that...Gibbs adjusted pretty well at the end of the first game against you guys, after the pounding we took against the Giants, and when you took away Moss at Fed Ex he still called plays that hurt you.

I should have said consistently

3/4 seasons Portis has been in the league, he has rushed for over 1500 yards.

Last year, included.

Jones is 0/2.

His rookie year, starting 7 games, he had 819 yards.
Last year, starting 12 games, he had 993.

It took him 5 games to rush for 174 more yards...

We can't even get him on the field for 16 games....
Meanwhile, Portis gets you 1500 yards.

And you think we have the edge?

-----------

Unrelated; hopefully, we can get Jones to play 16 games and get 1200 yards rushing.

But I am not going to hold my breath.

I hope Barber has been working hard this offseason.
Total yards doesnt = a great RB.
Portis is a workhorse and they forcefeed him the ball... of course he's going to get alot of yards.
If Julius weren't injured, he may very well have topped that anyhow.

I used to think Portis was the best RB in the league so it's not a homer statement. He just hasn't been the same since joining WAS, IMO.

The question at hand was about positional status anyhow which I took to mean all RBs on all teams not just the starting RB vs starting RB.

Jones, Barber & Thompson > Portis, Betts & Cartwright___
(I still believe this)

And if you ask most honest Skins fans (though hard to find) they'll tell you what a disappointment Samuels has been.

Should be noted that I watch EVERY Commanders game each season and have for many, many years. I live in VA and am surrounded by Skins fans. I know more about their team than most of them do, sadly.

Samuels has been a disapointment but he's still a pretty good OL. Portis bashing is just plain dumb. The guy had over 1500 yards last season and carried us, yes CARRIED US, on our 5 game winning streak at the end of last season to make the playoffs. Where was JJ during the last 5 games of the season? Betts is a great backup, if you watched any Skins games last year you know this. And Cartwright had a couple games where he averaged over 5 yards a carry, I know the Cheifs game was one of them...then he fumbled the game away. Thats why he's a number three.

In conclusion, if you think dallass has a better OL than the Commanders you are on drugs. You can ask any nonbiased NFL fan what the cowboys weakness is and they will tell you OL. It didn't even look like you guys had an OL against us in that 35-7 stomping...I actually felt a little bad for Bledsoe, (o.k. I didn't, but my girlfriend did). With Dock healthy our OL is at very least a B or B+. I think many of you forget that in the 2nd round playoff game against Seattle not only was Dockery, our best OL, out but so was his backup. So we had our #2 center playing gaurd.

Trust me on this one...our OL is better and so is our running game, wake up from the fantasy that is your life and join us all back in reality.

Your O line was better last year. It won't be this year. Simple as that. Even you can understand this- I dumbed it down as much as possible for skins fans.

I get sick of seeing idiotic Commander fans pointing to our second matchup with them and using it as the true measuring stick of our team.

Far from it....

That game was a mere abberration....it was clearly our worst effort of the season. The 35-7 score had more to do with our lack of effort (embarrassing), and injuries finally catching up with us, more than the Skins being a better team.

If Commander fans think that game was the true measure of our OL, then they're in for a rude awakening.

I'm not stupid enough to think our OL is better than theirs, but I think it can be if the pieces come together the way we think they can.

--a healthy Adams is the equal to Samuels...but right now, the edge is to Samuels because Adams will probably not be himself for a while

--Kosier is slightly below Dockery....a player that Commander fans greatly overrate

--Johnson is nowhere near the center Rabach is....

--a healthy Rivera is better than Thomas....although it's a huge question whether or not Rivera will ever be healthy again. The Skins have an edge here.

--Jansen is better than anybody we have at RT...although we do have some young potential there.

Again, our second game was not the true measure of our team. If you want to go by individual games, then it's fair to say that our DL dominated your OL in the first game....so they can't be all that.....

But that's just stupid to do....

Commanders/ Giants:

QB: B- / C

RB: B-/ A+

WR: A/ B-

OL: C-/ C-

DL: C-/ A

LB: B-/ C-

DBs: B-/ C

Portis and Betts get them an A-, but only Tiki gets NY an A+, botta disagree here...Toomer and Plexiglass arent that bad...especially if you throw Shcokey into the mix there

It also had to do with it being the most inspired effort the Skins gave all season. I firmly believe we could have beaten anyone in the NFL that day. Our defense kept attacking relentlessly and put our offense in great position to get 21 points off of turnovers.

Yet I firmly believe the way the Cowboys played against the Eagles in the first game, they could have beaten anyone in the NFL that day.

And the way the Giants played the Skins at the Meadowlands, they could have beaten anyone in the NFL that day.

The key to making the SB IMO is being able to repeat those outstanding efforts fairly consistently to gain home field advantage.

Every team in the division has the potential to do it, but who will? That's why we play the season.

The cowboys OL is underrated by even the faithful.

This is a right now league and right now Flo is coming off of major injury but he is in the same class any OL in the division. Samuels was coming off of an injury not that long ago himself. He and Flo are errily similar players.

Dallas added Fabini at RT to insure there will be a legit player there. Fabini was starting at LT last season. He's very tough to beat because he battles. Again he is a similar player to Jansen. Not the greatest talents in the world but battlers who bring attitude to the OL.

It hasn't been that long since Thomas wa splayign hurt and Samuels missed games. When that happened Wash had one of the worst lines in the league. That's simply the way it works.

Folks can crack on Kosier all they want but the guy is gonna more valuable than anyone seems to realize. He can play 4 positions at a starter's level. That versatility is priceless when you start seeing poor players on the field because you have no options at the position.

Last season Rivera sufffered a back injury, Flo missed 10 games and Petitti fought through elbow and ankle injuries because he did not have a backup.
