I think Spears is probably done, but considering the injuries and inexperience in our secondary...

...if motivated I still think Huff could be a decent player.

Yeah, I would consider Huff

He won't play special teams so he wouldn't be replacing our best special teamer.

He'll play special teams if he wants to play on the Dallas Cowboys, and he'll like it. Anyone who can play free safety in the NFL would have to be a good special teams player, IMO.

I'd bring both those guys in. Beggars can't be choosers and we need help at both positions. Don't forget that Spears has yet to play in a 4-3 as a pro, I think he might make a decent 1 tech even still.

Huff, I have no idea about. But he's a local kid, it makes sense.

Do we have the money? That's the question.

Spears has a degenerative knee issue, and is not an upfield player that the scheme requires inside, so I would say pass.

Frankly, I have never seen where Michael Huff has been a good player (he's always been a better name than player), so I would pass as well.

We have people playing on the DL that would probably be working at Home Depot right now if it weren't for how desperate we are.

Bring Spears in.

We have the worst passing defense in the League that is setting records for horribleness.

Bring Huff in.

Pretty simple.

1) Overweight? Yes
2) Knee problems? Yes
3) Old? Yes

Yet, some still would like to have Spears back. Why? And who exactly would they cut just to watch Spears stand on the sideline as another inactive for the final 8 games?

Ravens cut Michael Huff and Marcus Spears, promote safeties Omar Brown and Brynden Trawick
Marcus Spears had just 11 tackles and no sacks while also dealing with a knee injury, not the impact they'd hoped for when they signed him
Michael Huff had been benched as the starter and hadn't shown an enthusiasm or affinity for special teams

One man's trash..... :(

Very interesting. Both guys play a position we currently lack depth. I wonder what their contracts look like, and are they healthy.

Ehhh...churning the roster is churning the roster. If they think they can provide even a little better than something we've got I'm not opposed to bringing them in after they clear waivers.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Mike Huff is a friend of mine, and I'm here to tell you, he has been overrated since his days at UT. He wasn't any good in high school, but his speed is what got him to where he is. He's never been physical or a great tackler. He's now 31 years old and his speed is no longer there. He's done IMO

I dont see either one of them in a Cowboys uniform. Spears doesn't a fit for the new denfense line scheme and Huff doens't want to play Specials.
