Ravens cut Michael Huff and Marcus Spears, promote safeties Omar Brown and Brynden Trawick
Marcus Spears had just 11 tackles and no sacks while also dealing with a knee injury, not the impact they'd hoped for when they signed him
Michael Huff had been benched as the starter and hadn't shown an enthusiasm or affinity for special teams

One man's trash..... :(

and that is really difference in both franchises. Dallas keeps an under-performing Spears on roster for years. Raven quickly cut bait.

Because you are supposed to be his friend. Just make your arguments for sticking with Heath without citing your "friendship" with Huff as if it gives you more authority or something. The guy is out of work and looking for a job; yet his "friend" is trash talking his game in public, while making sure everyone knows that its a friend doing it. I just don't get the culture these days.

I don't care if you think that I want everyone to know that me and Mike are friends, I'll never meet any of you posters in person so your entire premise is irrelevant. I was giving an honest opinion on his game and how it would translate to the Cowboys current need. Trust me, you feel more hurt about what I said than he does, you don't know me or him so please wipe the tears from your eyes and settle down, really, it's not that serious.

Let's get back to the topic and leave all the personal barbs out of the discussion please.

I find it laughable that we are being picky on safeties, did anyone watch the Detroit game? I don't give a damn if he is only a name, at least we will have a name instead of nobody defending the deep ball.

Don't think either one is better than what we have. Spears is done, and Huff was never that good.

Spears today is not the guy that the Cowboys kept for years. While he never was a great player, he was a solid player in Dallas. He currently is not a solid player. Different situations. And midway through the season is hardly considered quickly cutting bait.

Everyone forgets he cam out of college as a SDE in the 4-3 came to dallas was asked to gain weight to play 3-4 DE and some NT. I think the extra weight has been detrimental to his game and thus ended his career, he lost what quickness he had with the weight gain so he is now a DT that has bad knees because his frame could not handle the weight and he is past the age where losing weight will let him regain any quickness to play DE.

Marcus was a solid player for us. A 30 year old Spears is a lot different than what we had.
