What's there not to like about Ray Rice? Seriously.

People knock him because they say he carried the ball a lot in college. Like tha's a bad thing. If he had only carried the ball 150 times every year, people would be saying he can't carry the load.

Not only did he carry the ball that much, but he stayed healthy doing it. People said he was slow, he puts up a respectable time at the combine.

I think he'll make someone a very good back, I wouldn't mind if it was us. I see nothing wrong with having a guy that has proven he can be a workhorse coming in and backing up a guy that plays every down like it's his last.

I like that he's proven he can do it on his own and stay healthy while doing it, especially since MB3 should be the main man in Big D this year.

With a little less responcibility than he had in college his transition to the NFL will be easier, because he won't be expected to be "the man".

A little extra time on the bench should make him stronger and help keep his body fresh.

Great points. Have no idea what Fuzzy's problem is with me.....perhaps those little brown balls he ate this morning weren't chocolate after all. ;)

Easter bunnies do some crazy things.

my problem is that you come into it seems every thread im having a discussion you come and take a shot at me or some passive aggresive jab. youve done it ever since my discussions with mike a few yearas ago and its pretty sad.

The numbers you posted show that he has a 5.8 YPC in the 2nd half of games. But you're crowing about his 4th quarter production being 3.9 YPC? And you have the gall to tell Sarge to "bring something worthwhile" to the conversation? Eventually if you break any players numbers down into a specific situation, you'll find a below average situation, unless he actually took each and every for 5 yards. That's just the nature of averages.

For example, Marion Barber had a 3.3 YPC against our division opponents. That's abysmal. Must me he sucks, right? He had a 3.9 YPC on 2nd downs. How on earth did he make it to the Pro Bowl only running 3.9 YPC on 2nd downs?

Wow using the probowl selection to try and justify your point. you know youre resorting to ad hominem constantly now when trying to discuss anything with me. that shows any independent judge you are losing. it s a tell tale sign.

the fact that Barber doesnt show up in division games is troubling just as his success rate in converting in short yardage. i never said that was the total package. But if you want to stick your head in the sand and say production like that is 'okay' then Ill just think youre an idiot.

As for Rice, i just said that his production at the end of halves drops significantly. I qualified that with it could be becasue of a myriad of reasons but its still true whether you like it or not. If you want to stick your head in the sand and say that doesn't matter and shouldn't be looked into then you go right ahead. I'll still think youre being a moron.

And the whole thing is a tried to put some levity on the situation and commented on how he showed up HUGE in big games. He averaged 150+ yards a game against ranked opponents. That is superb.

But hey, I see you have a pet cat and will resort to this sort of mindlessness at anything that may be deemed negative for your pet cat but as with any player there are positives and negatives.

Im not sticking my head in the sand.

Look he had half as many carrys in the 4'th as in the third quarter. Maybe they were just jamming inside, running out the clock more in the 4'th quarter when ahead. This is the type of over over analysis that made E.S. drop to us at what like 17 or 20?

Ray Rice if a complete back. Watch him run. Its his ability to see holes open and close and shift lateraly to take advantage, plus he has great balance. He is durable. He is no E.Smith! but he reminds me a lot of Emmit with his vision.

Luckily, no ones football franchise is resting on your being sold or not but if you don't know why you dislike him, and have no desire to be moved from that stance, why do you keep starting threads like this?[

World class lateral agility? Hes a good back man but world class lateral agility? WORLD CLASS? I seen him alot the last three years especially beating up on Syracuse but thats just not right. I think he is alot like Emmit though but man you are going a little overboard

if you wnat to think that drops in performance to end halves is meaningless then fine. Im not even making a conclusion off of it.

Like Emmitt? ;)

Seriously though, if Ray Rice is the second coming of Emmitt Smith, the Cowboys of all teams should know this and should take him.
