Ray Sherman not returning

:laugh2: As someone posted earlier in the thread, Sherman will go from the Bill Walsh of assistant coaches to Rich Kotite in the next few hours.

not the Dallas media, just a few who always play this same card if you catch my drift....scruggs, hill and watkins. Newy hates garrett so he is going to take shots repeatedly at him every chance he gets....

he already suggested john garrett be let go because bennett isnt any good.

when you see stuff like that getting said you realize that none of those 3 media guys are worth a darn and should not be paid attention to. I learned that years ago. particularly newy and watkins. Both are awful.

I get your drift and agree. Newy, Watkins and JJT are like a pack of fish. They all are trying to say the same thing with out saying it and it happens all the time.

I understand it's not their job to paint a pretty picture all the time but they almost seem to make it personal.

I hate seeing Ray Sherman go, but I do like that it seems Garrett truly is being given the authority to make his own moves. It's been one of our longstanding criticisms of Jones' coaching staffs -- they don't have the authority to bring in guys they want.

That sums up my thoughts on the subject as well.

I was hoping Sherman would stay, but he isn't, either by his own will or JG's. For those wondering what that means for the headstrong Dez, well, he'll need to get in line because there is a new sheriff in town.

Just read Watkins blog over on ESPN Dallas. LOL. He, like all the other media, questioned whether or not Jerry would actually give Garrett the authority to make his own decisions. Then he turns around and suggests, that if this indeed was Garrett's call (meaning he really doesn't know), that Jerry should have forced him to keep Sherman. He cites the reasoning for this, of all things, because Roy Williams would go to Sherman instead of Garrett, and complain about the offense. Seriously??? Man I wish we could get some real sports writers, who would just report what's going on, instead of always interjecting their own opinions and conclusions. More often than not, they prove to be incorrect, and only serve to stir up a fan base. I hate agendas.

parcells made staff and front office changes after the 04 season and let a bunch of people go.

back then newy was on espn 1033 and he went nuts. A. for the reasons mentioned above and b because his buddies who gave him inside info were gone. He whined all offseason about it and never said a nice thing about parcells again.

pretty transparent group of people.

and again, none of us know if wasnt retained, wanted to leave or mutually agreed to persue another job. i am sure we will find out.

What really has he done?

Hurd never turned the corner, Ogletree regressed, Roy never became consistent, Austin lost all focus, and Dez still never knew the offense.

so we are blaming all these things on Ray sherman now?

Don't get me wrong. I like Sherman, and I think it's good to have someone that can help keep the diva WR's in check. But when you look at our WR core, can you really be impressed? Yeah, Austin has developed into a great WR, and then you have Dez (of course, I think he'll be a great WR reagardless of who his coach is). So give him credit for that. But then, you look at Roy and KO, and where's the development there?

And again, it's really a waste of time jumping to conclusion, until we have more actual facts on the situation, as to what really is going on.

Lmao..yeah, Garrett was hiring and firing people as OC...go away
yeah, Garrett was hired before the head coach, obviously he had no say. lol

Does he deserve part of the blame? Sure. If the players you specifically coach have a bad year, you don't think at least some of the blame should go to you?

He doesn't deserve all of it or even most of it though.

Anyway, I'm happy with the move. If this is what Garrett wants, I'm fine with that.

I don't care when as assistant coach is hired. Since when has an assistant coach ever had a say over his HC or his owner??

When his unit does not know their assignments, run sloppy routes, and cause about 10 INTs because of dropped passes damn right he has responsibility.

Don't even waste your time man. This argument is as bad as they get. OC w the ability to fire staff members lol.

I don't really have any problem with this. All 53 players need to be on the same page, and Sherman let his group splinter from the rest of the team in the TO debacle.

I want to know why Garrett wants that though.

Sherman must have not been a JG fan.

I see this as nothing but a positive..Garrett is putting his prints on this team..people complain about Jerry 24/7 then when Garrett gets to do things his way they still want to complain lol.

Unless you know more than any one else your guessing just as well.
Maybe Sherman didn't want to come back. Why not wait and find out what the truth might be before saying Garrett had any thing at all to do with it?

If we are really looking to hold coaches accountable than would start with Campo,Houck and even Garrett before coming to Sherman.
