I found this from Mr. Todd Archer, (I believe) anyhow, How do you GM's feel this draft redo would play out?

  • Sunday’s game between the Cowboys and Houston Texans will feature two of the best players from the 2011 draft in Tyron Smith and J.J. Watt. I wonder where these guys would go in a re-draft. The Cowboys took Smith with the ninth pick of the first round. The Texans took Watt at No. 11. Cam Newton (Carolina), Von Miller (Denver), Marcell Dareus (Buffalo), A.J. Green (Cincinnati), Patrick Peterson (Arizona), Julio Jones (Atlanta), Aldon Smith (San Francisco) and Jake Locker (Tennessee) went before Smith. Jackonsville took Blaine Gabbert at No. 10 before Watt. There has to be some buyer’s remorse from Buffalo. Miller and Smith have had off-field issues. Locker clearly was the wrong pick. But the folks in Cincinnati, Arizona and Atlanta can’t be upset with their selections. If we’re re-grading the draft, then Smith and Watt would clearly be rated higher.

Right now I would hate to have to pick between the two.

JJ. Watt could go down as the best DL of all time though.

Ware was still playing very well, so we didn't need a DE, but needed an OT. So we don't need a redo.
But yes, some of the other teams, for sure.

I think Watt, T Smith, Peterson, and J Jones would easily be picks 1-4. As to value, all are great players and their careers need to play out to determine which was actually the best overall player.

I'm still taking Tyron.

As good as JJ is, DTs, or even DL in general, for the most part, just don't have a ton of impact on the game. As big and strong as today's OL are, they just can't.

You can take JJ's 4-5 splash plays a game or Tyron totally wiping out every passrusher that comes at him...potentially 50 plays a game. That allows you to do so much more offensively.

I don't think you can go wrong either way, unless maybe you are the Minnesota Vikings. If you're the Vikings, you probably screw around so long that you manage to give up the 9th pick because Jacsksonville has moved ahead of you and they take Smith. You probably do the same thing with Houston and they still take JJ. Now you've realized that hey, you gotta get off the stick so you come to and turn in your pick for Blain Gabbert at 11. Later you will say that it was a cap savings mood and that Gabbert was the guy you wanted all along..............

Man, that was a stacked top of the draft! Gabbert was such an insane reach.

Couldn't go another year of guys like deaf and worn down Flozell, Megabust Alex Barron, and one legged Marc Colombo playing tackle for this team. Look at it this way Dallas & Houston drafted the 2 best players in that draft without question, and quite possibly when it's said and done the 2 best to ever play their positions. If I remember correctly we were rumored to be in on the likes of Costanzo, Carimi(thank the Lord), and Cam Jordan so we made the right choice that day.

What position usually has a longer career, into their 30's without fading, or fading more. Usaully the OL. But either way, can't go wrong for their production to this point.
We did what was needed at the time, as well did houston.
If flip flopped, I'm sure we will still same the same either way.

Smith and it's not even close for me. Give me a solid foundation to an OL to control the game rather than a DLineman.
