not sure why but I continue to like Rolando, remain loyal to him and want him on our team. I think the issues we had on dfense last season had a lot to do with missing scandrick as well as having an awful offense that couldn't stay on the field.

if he ever turns the corner he'll be an amazing LB,,, we all just keep hoping.

I truly hope someone else offers him a multi-year contract and takes him. I don't want anything to do with the guy. He hasn't shown consistent effort or ability in his time here. He's had two seasons to dispel the demons and still hasn't. Even when at his best this season, his play wasn't much better than average.

I'd rather give Hitch a shot in the middle than watch McClain quit on another play. No thanks.

Like many here, I have mixed feelings when it comes to Rolando. The staff should know enough by now as to what he's all about.

Let's hope they make an informed decision that'll be for the best of the team. He's been both great and awful at times. Tough call.

If they can get another one year, sure why not.

I don't think McClain will sign until this summer unless he gets a multiyear deal. He'll wait out a one-year deal until he essentially has to sign because A) he thinks he's worth more and B) he doesn't like practice, including being obliged to work out.

He's a player who could be great if he applied himself, but seems to be fine with not having to apply himself and just being good.

If we draft Miles Jack, he'll be the new MLB. We aren't going to take a guy that high and put him at the SAM where he's not even on the field that much.
We've had McClain for two years now, and he still hasn't proven that he wants to play football. He doesn't hurt us on D, but his attitude just isn't there. This past year, he didn't even want to hit anyone hard, and he didn't take on blocks very well. Unless he was injured and only the team knew it, it's time to move on. We need a MLB who has fire in the belly and wants to knock the crap out of RBs, even if that guy isn't quite as talented as Ro. Then find a SS like that for the secondary, and this defense will start to follow those guys and Lee.

I agree. The good thing about having the 4th pick is we know who we'll be able to get. If we're dead set on getting Jack, then we won't add any new LBs in the offseason. If we're set on getting Wentz, then we'll probably look to resign RoMc or another vet on a short deal. It's all in our own hands.

Exactly. Time to move on. Wouldn't surprise me if he gets suspended for the year due to drugs.

We need some more speed at LB. McClain was a step or two slow and it lead to injuries to Lee and Hitch and a lot of big plays across the middle of the field. I even recall him bumping BJones off a WR that led to a big TD.

An upgrade is warranted for sure. Maybe a draft pick like Jack or Ragland or maybe a FA like Trevathan

I really don't want anything to do with McClain. Don't like his attitude and we should move on. And moving on means NOT bringing back Durant and Carter.

Vincent Rey would be a very good pickup for ILB.
Scooby Wright ILB in the 4th

Add those guys to what we have and we should be good to go.

NEWSFLASH

You don't know him personally... You don't know his attitude to like it or not

I know the guy retired twice. Had run ins with the law. Got suspended for drugs. Came in out of shape and underperformed. I know last year no other team wanted him. I know enough that he wouldn't be on any team I ran.

It is real easy to say get rid of R . Mc Clain at MLB when we have nobody to replace them. You say then draft a rookie and replace him when everyone knows that Dallas is afraid to play rookies until the 2nd year unless your name is Tyron, Fred or Zack. I say resign McClain to team friendly one or two year deal. Instead of getting rid of and replacing productive starters, maybe try getting rid of non-productive ones like Wilcox, Carr, Church, Hitchens, Golden Cock and that sorry fullback first!

McClain wasn't productive and letting him go gives us a chance to see what Hitchens has.

McClain, yet again, couldn't stay heathy--he's never played 16 games and only amassed 80 tackles. That's not difficult production to re-produce.

Hitchens played in all 16 games, but only started 9. He amassed 66 tackles on significantly fewer snaps than McClain. He's better in coverage, has yet to miss a game due to injury and he's younger.

The absolute only reason to retain McClain is to keep the circus together for another year--or you simply want another name.

The German LB will be starting at SAM by week 6. Mark it down

I hope you are right. Nzeocha has the athleticism to succeed if the game isn't too big for him. Hope Cowboys can hit big on all their international prospects, including Obada.

If we went by what a good many want here, this is what we'd be doing this off-season.

Letting Claiborne, McClain, and Hardy walk while cutting Carr and moving Scandrick to the #1 CB role. I've seen some say moving Jones to CB (What did he do at CB that made anyone think he's fit there?)

I feel like many people are calling for a defense on the level of 2013. Some of these players need to be resigned, McClain should be cheap and should be signed.

Hitchens has started 20 games for us in two seasons. How much more playing does he need for us to know what we got? Seriously, we know what we got. He's good depth, that's it.

McClain hasn't had a full offseason with us mainly due to health concerns, but going into year three, I believe he is healthy, at least I haven't heard of any necessary surgeries for him.

He'll conveniently be "hurt" for every training camp he's allowed to partake in.

13th in time of possession.
