I agree Center is #2 on the line, but Biadasz is playing too well for that right now. Mcgover replacement is where we need to next stud.
I worry about the top guard in the class, big, powerful, but very slow footed. Agree, about Biaz, really can’t replace a guy who is ascending, might not ever be elite, but could be a very solid player

Agreed on all. IF we can get that Florida Kid at guard, what a great young line we would have. The Beagles basically ran over SF with barely having to throw a pass. Imagine being able to do that. LOL

That defense destroyed us two years running. Made our offense look like children.

We need another stud and we need Tyler to be a stud.
Not worried about Tyler as he is a hard worker, will continue to get better. A player I look at is Picoc from the Browns, he played under our crushed in Seattle was the 5th rated center last yr and has started at guard as well. However, isn’t going to be cheap.

Are you talking in FA getting Picoc?

We all have to keep in mind that the team has 4 big extensions on the horizon, 3 could be close to top of the market:

Diggs, Lamb, Steele, Parsons

They are all long-term pieces for this team and aren't going anywhere.

We are fully aware how Stephen Jones uses free agency, plugs all holes with bridge, low cost starters so they don't need to reach to fill a need in the draft. If they are going to spend big in fa, they have always done so with the WR position-major trades with Galloway, Roy Williams, Amari Cooper, signing TO, etc.

Offense

-I'm expecting either a big trade or big fa signing at the wide receiver position. Both Jerry/Stephen stated at the combine, they would like to add 1 more offensive weapon. OBJ is the favorite and would be the smallest cost as they don't have to give up draft picks to sign him, but Hopkins, Cooks are all in play. Believe Noah Brown has priced himself off the roster.

-Shultz will playing elsewhere. The Cowboys offensive coaches stayed back last weekend to work on their new scheme, except their TE Coach. This suggests they are looking to draft one this year and could be an higher pick than we have seen in years. TE Class is loaded this yr.

-McGovern will not be resigned, team reportedly loves Farnoik and he can play both G/C. Tyler Smith is expected to start at Guard this yr and Tyron moving back to Left Tackle. They will come up with an contingency plan for expected time missed for Tyron as they are comfortable with their three tackles.

-Think they are going to slow play Zeke Elliot, as they receive much more if he is a June 1st release. Jerry continues to say he wants him back, but Stephen says he cannot play on his current contract. Will Zeke accept a 2-3 million deal? They were looking at running backs at the combine, which suggests Zeke's time could be over.

Defense

-There are reports that the team is far apart in contract discussions with Lve. If Lve signs with another team, we can expect another veteran starter to be signed. Clark isn't ready and don't think they want a rookie starter at the position nor move Parsons there full time. Yes, Bobby Wagner will be in play, will he take less to play with Dan Quinn? If Edwards was still here, I bet former Viking, Hendricks would become a Cowboy. My guess, Wagner will be signed and finish out his career here. Don't think Barr returns.

-The same things are coming about Donovan Wilson, being far apart in contract discussion. Unlike Lve, they do have some in house replacement options. They also had close to 10 formal meeting at the combine with safety prospects. I am expecting to see Wilson signed on day 1 to a big contract for another team.

-Anthony Brown is now over 30, coming back from an achilles injury. Either they resign him to a low level, 1 yr deal to rehab with the team or they sign a bridge, starting fa. Word is that Diggs has been trying to recruit Patrick Peterson to sign with the team. He makes much more sense then trading for a Jalen Ramsey. Probably sign for less then 5 million and replace Brown as the starter.

-Dan Quinn forced the team to trade for a NT during the season, this would of never of happened during the Garrett years. Fully expected to see Jonathan Hankins resigned. Question is will they sign another NT or draft one on day 3 again like they did with Bohanna/Ridgeway? A'Shaun Robinson would be an excellent signing, heard Brockers has some interest. Fixing the run defense is priority #1 for the defense. As for the rest of the DL, Fowler might return on another 1 yr deal, if the cost is right.

Special Teams

-The Long Snapper will be resigned, question is what do they do about a place kicker? Do they sign a veteran fa like Gay from the Rams? This would be the best way to fix the position.

Free Agent Class

-OBJ, Wagner, Peterson, Hankins, Gay or someone similar at K.
I think Steele gets a Beasley type offer this year. If Steele doesn't take it, we move on.

The only free agent of any significant will be OBJ as long as he does not want stupid money.

There will be no trading of draft picks and there will be no tier 1 free agency signings.

I believe they are extremely high on the player, remember they let Collins walk cause of him. He is a priority resign in my opinion.

To finish our OL discussion, we need another starting caliber Guard. Now if this player isn't going to start day 1, due to Tyron returning, we can almost exclude them from using another 1st rd pick. Anywhere after that, taking an interior lineman can be in play. We know the team should of moved on from Tyron, but that isn't the decision they are making. Figure at some point he gets hurt, Tyler shifts to LT and this draftee starts next to him at Guard.

There is a good article on the draft zone from Bob Strum breaking down the top interior lineman. It's a good read to look at some of the top prospects.

Excellent post. If the Cowboys could do this we would be a top 3 team in NFC without the draft and we could just draft the best players available. I think Wagner would be the most important to get of the free agents. With him the defense becomes elite.

I cannot see them handing the job to Clark or a 1st yr rookie starter. If Lve does indeed depart, Wagner will be on top of that list to replace him. Landing a legitimate #2 receiver, might be even more important though as we cannot rely on Gallup to return to his previous form, if he does, it's a great problem to have.

He is talking about returning to Seattle. IMO, he has no desire to leave the west coast.

Here we go with your yearly "we need to trade or draft a WR in the first round" mantra. Its like ground hog day for you.

When are you going to realize that the Oline is the key to an offense. Until the Oline gets top notch again it doesnt matter what we have at the skill positions.
Draft o line every round, and every fa. Get 22 oline and start them on every position everywhere. Great oline so nothing else will matter.

He wanted to play for Dallas and Quinn last year, but the Cowboys never came close to his contract demands. He stated that he wants to play on a contender. Cowboys right now are a top 3 team in the conference.

At the end of the day, he chose LA based on the most money. He likes Quinn. But he’s going to the highest bidder.

Last year he said, “
But, speaking in a recent conversation with CNBC, he points at Dallas' frugality as a key reason he's in Los Angeles.

"That was a real thing," said the eight-time Pro Bowler. "We had conversations. I love Dan Quinn and have a lot of respect for him, but between their needs and what they were willing to spend, we couldn't agree. But there was mutual interest."

Gallup is in his 20s still I think he will return to form. Gallup came back to early and had another injury that the team kept secret. What Gallup did that was so important was teams would put their number 1 cornerback on him so Cooper and CeeDee could eat. Before his injury he led the Cowboys in snaps lining up against top cornerbacks.

Yep we'd much prefer the LVE and Barr price range especially at LB.
