Never really understood the need to "Check a fans reality" or even why "Homer" is a thing, again I dont play for the team I Root for the team so by default I am a 'Fanatic"... I also dont need to have a healthy respect for the other team because I am not linning up across from them, the team I'm rooting for should have that, I will do my job which is to unfactually root them to a win that in my mind is helping. The fact is there are people in this forum who do act like Cowboys fans and are here just to cause flak.. and they are the "Realists" (I said some not all) now thats irony!

That is absolutely not true!!!! I could cut grass for the Cowboys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I couldn’t. Jerry probably has some weird species of grass that can only be cut while listening to Tears for Fears on a Tuesday.

Don't they have FieldTurf everywhere and not natural grass? Ohhhhhhh, you meant something else. Randy Gregory doesn't play for us anymore.

I've said in another thread if Dallas can play smart football without the drive killing, double digit penalties and brainless turnovers, then we have a chance to pull the upset and roll into our first NFCC game in nearly 3 decades. I'm ready for the tide to turn.
Yep....just play our game. I'm a little worried we're too jacked up.

I don't really mind those people that want to see the bright side of each game. It's the people that come in the second the game is over talking about eating crow and "I'm sure glad I was wrong" wanting in on the victory supper after spending all week telling everyone to be realistic. At some point, you gotta put chips on the table and you in or ya out!

I truly don't mean to put words in your mouth but you seem to be saying it's totally ok to be wrong if you overestimate the cowboys but not if you are pessimistic about our chances?

If you predict cowboy domination and we lose, no problem. You don't have to acknowledge that you were wrong. You're excused
But if you predict a cowboys loss and we win, you're not welcome to enjoy it and your acknowledgement of an inaccurate prediction will not be accepted

You're not welcome at the "victory supper"

Kind of a double standard, no?

Many people are more fond of rah rah than reality. To those people, the people more fond of reality are a downer.

And if you're just talking about being a football fan, the Rah Rah crowd have a point *in reality*. It's sports *entertainment*. Reality is not the point for entertainment.

Do you sit in a movie and keep pointing out "aktually, that's not reality"? Debbie Downer.

Maybe you cheer just as hard when the team is losing. That would make you even more of a mutant than I am, and that's saying something. My condolences.

Have you noticed that you are something of an odd duck yet? That's *reality*. Facing it will make your life easier. Pissing in the cornflakes of the Rah Rah won't. Unless you cheer just as loudly for *yourself* when *your* losing too.
Nah, there are plenty of Cowboys fans who understand that you can passionate about the Dallas Cowboys without being delusional.

Ain't that the truth? The Negative Nancies and the Homers are extreme and are constantly spatting and being none too bright. They ruin most threads and are so loud that it often appears the board is nothing but that.

Hey, during the match, can we throw fleas and scorpions and a toad or two in the ring? Maybe a diamondback or two?
I've killed my fair share of rattlers, but toads freak me out!

Shout out to those Cowboys fans who didn't cave in to the homer mob who spent all week browbeating other Cowboys fans who are willing to admit that the 49ers are probably the better overall team and should be favored to win. And these fans are not Debbie Downers. They realize that on any given Sunday, any team can beat any other team. They just simply acknowledge that over the course of the season, the 49ers have been consistently more dominant and haven't had phases of playing down to inferior teams, penalties and turnovers like the Cowboys have. It wasn't 49ers fans calling for their head coach and starting QB to be kicked to the curb just 2 weeks ago like Cowboys fans were after the Washington loss.

So long story short...you can be a Cowboys fan and acknowledge reality at the same time. You don't have to be one these delusional idiots who are being completely fake about their confidence in the Cowboys winning today. You know, the ones who keep bringing up the 1992 NFC Championship, keeping shouting empty words about fate and destiny. These are not true fans. They are really cowards when it comes down to it.

I expect the mob to show up here and spout their hatred. But I'll be busy watching the game and will cheer/scream/celebrate every bit as hard if the Cowboys are winning today.
The reality is the game hasn't even been played yet, let's talk about reality after we win.

Haha 49ers dont play down to the competition or make mistakes...... Didn't they lose to the Bears and Falcons this year?

You can't name 1 team Dallas lost to that didn't make the playoffs or was within 1 win of making the playoffs.

Not true fans but cowards? Poor choice of words for those with differing opinions than yours and if you've really read my threads or posts, and I assume you have, I never said the Cowboys are the better team, just the opposite.

If the better team won all the time, we wouldn't have any given Sunday and probably not much of an audience. It is the team that plays the best......in that one game.

I think the Cowboys are going to outplay the Niners today because of the additional motivation of how the last game ended. The Cowboys are looking for redemption and revenge and they have a team close enough in talent to pull that off.

Maybe you wouldn't be expecting some to spout their hatred if you hadn't made that blanket statement about them being cowards?

Reality denotes logic and rationale and that doesn't mix very well with being a fan of a sports team. Being a fan is all about emotion for some and can be an escape from reality. I find reality overrated.
