Shout out to those Cowboys fans who didn't cave in to the homer mob who spent all week browbeating other Cowboys fans who are willing to admit that the 49ers are probably the better overall team and should be favored to win. And these fans are not Debbie Downers. They realize that on any given Sunday, any team can beat any other team. They just simply acknowledge that over the course of the season, the 49ers have been consistently more dominant and haven't had phases of playing down to inferior teams, penalties and turnovers like the Cowboys have. It wasn't 49ers fans calling for their head coach and starting QB to be kicked to the curb just 2 weeks ago like Cowboys fans were after the Washington loss.

So long story short...you can be a Cowboys fan and acknowledge reality at the same time. You don't have to be one these delusional idiots who are being completely fake about their confidence in the Cowboys winning today. You know, the ones who keep bringing up the 1992 NFC Championship, keeping shouting empty words about fate and destiny. These are not true fans. They are really cowards when it comes down to it.

I expect the mob to show up here and spout their hatred. But I'll be busy watching the game and will cheer/scream/celebrate every bit as hard if the Cowboys are winning today.
If you are so sure Dallas will lose today, show me your betting slip with 5k on those niners? If not.... go to bed.

Meh! I was never one to call for McCarthy and/or Dak's head, regardless of the Commanders game result. I was one of the few who understood how good this team truly is, hence why I'm choosing a Cowboys victory today.

Wake up and smell the roses. This team needs its fans to believe and support.

When did I say I was sure the Cowboys were going to lose today? I said the Cowboys have a chance to win, even if the odds are in the 49ers favor. Big difference.

Can we not just enjoy the moment for once?

This is at least tied for the most consequential game this team has played in nearly 30 seasons. It has the potential to be a really great moment. It also could end in disappointment. Sometimes that is just life.

I for one am just going to enjoy the game, acknowledging the outcome I want very well may not happen.

Those are the haters, like the ones that will blame Zeke or Tank or MM, etc. The Homer's will be positive that we won a playoff game and will be excited about next year. What a day to start a stupid thread like this. Why can't some people just enjoy the moment.
I’m sure some lump me in with the Homers, because I’ll argue with the Haters. That’s wrong. I just can’t hold my tongue when someone who claims to be a Cowboy fan CONSISTENTLY talks like this 12-5 team is 5-12, like failure is a given. I’m well aware of our team’s problems, and It’s quite possible that a damn good team like SF ends our season, but like Tom Petty once said, “I won’t back down”.

Again, you can be passionate about the Dallas Cowboys without being delusional. You can believe they have a decent chance at winning today without ignoring the evidence at hand. The way I see it, if they were to hypothetically play this game 10 times in a row, the 49ers would probably win 7 of those games. The Cowboys would have a 3 in 10 chance to win. If the Cowboys were playing at home and not coming off of 4 straight road games, the odds would be closer to even.

I would even say that a 30% chance of winning in really not that bad when you think about it. Batting 30% hits in baseball will get you a hall of fame career. Die-hard gamblers feel safe placing bets on the kind of odds.

So yeah, I'm rooting for my team and think they have a decent chance at winning today. But if they don't,I go into this realizing that there was a 70% chance that it wasn't going to happen. That's all you can ask for.

So lets have a non homer discussion.
The Cowboys have beaten the Bengals, Vikings, Giants twice, and Eagles (i dont care about hurts not playing, we walked all over their defense)

Seriously look at the Niners schedule. They have bears, seahawks, broncos, Rams, Panthers, Falcons, Chiefs(they got stomped), Rams, Chargers, Cardinals(back up qb), Saints, Dolphins, Bucs, Seahaswks, Commanders, Raiders, Cardinals.

Seriousy, 11 or more of those opponents had losing records. I could argue they played only the Chargers and Dolphins as good teams, and did Tua play in that game??? Maybe, and if not, that means only Chargers were what I would say is solid. After that is is the Seahawks, and they were avg. All the rest of their games were against trash teams.

So why anyone thinks they are so great is beyond me. They might end up being really good, but up to this point, I cant say that.

Enjoying the moment? You sound pretty miserable to me! If you are as confident as you say you are, then a thread like this shouldn't bother you.

I don't have a problem with Homerism. It depends on how intensive it is. On a scale of 1 to Spagnola, I can tolerate 7s and 8s. To each his own. Over the last 27 years I have evolved into a realist. But realists can be wrong to, and this year I think we realists have been surprised by these Cowboys.

Looking at these two teams side by side I see two pretty evenly matched teams. But you are right. One team comes to play every week and the other, the Cowboys, tends to be up and down.

Also, off topic, but is anyone else annoyed with the start times of these playoff games? 6:30PM? 5:30 Central time. I imagine many a dinner is going to be disrupted by this game time. Why can't they just play the games at the normal starting times for the regular season? 6:30 is an awful time to start a game. And is that the kickoff time, or the time all the pre-game nonsense begins?

You make plenty of great points here. You can make the argument that the 49ers had the weaker schedule and that they aren't as battle-tested.
Me personally, I think that is offset by the Cowboys playing their 4th straight road game. I also think the 49ers are just built to dominate teams physically. Once they got their QB situation straightened out, no one has been able to beat them. But I hope you are right. I hope the Cowboys can expose them as frauds. That would be awesome!

How many people are on this site saying that it.... we are winning the SB this year? NOBODY. There are a couple that say it tongue in cheek, and only the fools woudnt see that.

Me, we clearly are good enough. There is no team we cant beat, NONE. Does that mean we will? Hell no, this is th eNFL and one play here or there can decide a game.

1 to Spagnola - that is a beautiful classic line. Please promote it!!

Like I said in another post, I do think the Cowboys have a decent chance at winning. And I do see that many CZ members are not too far from where I'm coming from.

I'll say this. I have been pleasantly surprised how many times the Cowboys have bounced back. After the week one loss to TB, after losing to the Eagles, after losing the Packers, Jags, The Commodes. Dak's performance last week was the biggest surprise of all.

Start times? Heck. I'm STILL trying to adjust to weekly scheduled games on Sunday and Thursday nights. And the occasional Monday Night Football doubleheader.
