It was GB there home vs the San Fran, not exactly a cold weather. So no weather for home team is not an issue not an excuse. Rams defense played a big part in the win. I'm sorry but this is BS you can have an honest conversation you look for any reason you can find to slam Dak. Frankly I have had it with this. I will freely admit mistakes but you can't admit the good in Dak play.

I have told people who claim Dak is elite or if he wins a SB he will then be elite that I disagree with them. It take more than a SB in my book to qualify as an elite.

True, and I will back this QB to do just that. I think he is a quality QB very capable of helping this team win a championship. I made no excuses for the Cowboys loss to the 49ers, end of the game the only thing at matter is the final score. The penalties called in my view were legit and I know that to win vs top competition you can't afford many mistakes. That goes for Dak and the entire team. As Jimmy said before in big games in not always which team makes the most plays who win it is the team who makes the fewest mistakes that win

If the team doesn’t get over the hump, I can see them resigning him only if it’s a good deal for both sides.
I don’t see them releasing him and taking a 40 million hit in dead cap money.
When his contract actually runs out, I could see them starting over with another rookie QB.

Chuck lets say the TEAM doesn't get over the hump and at the time of Dak's contract running out He's gone to 2 Pro Bowls , Gotten 1 All Pro Selection and has piled up unheard-of Numbers in passing yards, TD'S and wins

The game was lost in the 4th when the Cowboys:
1. Failed to stop the 49ers on a 3rd and 4 deep in SF territory.
2. Committed 3 penalties on the defense on 1 drive, all 3 netted SF a first down. Worst was Gregory literally tackling a SF o-lineman, got him in a bear hug and totally missed the play, the runner was going outside, have zero idea what Gregory was thinking.
3. Committed another defensive penalty and let SF run the clock down after getting a first down off the penalty, resulting in Dallas having like 45 seconds to go 80 yards for a td.

The defense HAS TO CUT DOWN ON THE PENALTIES. Otherwise it'll be the same story this year...

They played with no confidence. Everyone standing there waiting for someone to make a play.

Even in these days that's a lot of points to give up.

Besides, Cowboys were down only 7, what transpired in the first 3 qtrs doesn't change the fact that stupid mistakes by the defense made it next to impossible to get a td late.

Remember Brady only scored what, 9 pts in the SB win over Atlanta in the first 3 quarters? Good teams can get down early, it happens...
