I see no scenario where Tunsil slides short of teams trading up for QBs. SD is DESPERATE for O Line help.

In my opinion at least. Listed in no particular order

If Tunstil falls to 4 it will be exciting. I would be happy if we took him but there might be some teams wanting to trade up for him if he slips a little.

options:
QB of your choice/Ramsay/Bosa/Jack/Treadwell/trade down

EASY to justify any of the above.
Much harder to justify Tunsil. We have the best OL in football and won 4 games.

Tunsil is the easiest of any to justify. BPA. Doesn't get any easier than that. I'll gladly take 5 all-pro offensive linemen. And I am sure Romo would be concur. So would the RBs. This year is probably Free's last year. Draft Tunsil and the running game becomes king. Teams that can run on a consistent basis win. Teams that can run on 3rd and 3 and 3rd and 4 win championships. Give me a line of Smith, Collins, Fredbeard, Martin, and Tunsil and I think we will pound the opposition into submission. We would own the 4th quarter and teams wouldn't be able to stop the run even when they knew it was coming.

I want a trade down if we dont pick a QB at 4,i will be pissed if we picked a DB or LB that high.

Not sure why you should be.

The Cowboy secondary is a train-wreck.

And if Ro leaves the linebacking corp will have a hole in it.

Both SB participants have very good secondaries and linebacking corps.

The defense had 11 takeaways this season with is a negative record for the franchise.

Has that ever happened to a team before? If the clock runs out, do they lose their pick?
It has happened. Once the time expires, you can still make your pick at any time, but the next team up is free to jump in and draft someone before you do. And then the team after them.

It happened to the Vikings in 2003. They had the 6th pick in the draft and were trying to trade it, but couldn't get the deal done in time. The clock expired and Jacksonville and Carolina jumped in and drafted before Minnesota got their act together and picked, ending up with the 9th player taken.

For the record, Minnesota ended up with Kevin Williams, so it's not like they ended up ruing the situation. The guys taken in the interim were Byron Leftwich and Jordan Gross, so actually, all three teams did okay (yeah, Leftwich wasn't spectacular, but the Jags got a few solid years out of him).

That's really interesting. Thanks :)
