the problem is, he's not likely to turn into a guy that forces a bunch of turnovers. I don't recall tons of passes bounces off his hands, which tells you, he either lacks the instincts to break on a pass, or the closing speed/burst needed to do so. I do not see Patrick Peterson when I watch Ramsey, to be honest, I see Prince Amukamara, who heading into that draft was highly touted, but began to fall.

he has poor technique.
you see him turn the opposite way at times and it can look bad, but the weird thing is the man never gets away from him even when using poor technqiue.
he is even more raw than Peterson was but it was Mo who had all the picks for LSU, not Peterson.
and Mo who covered WR1.
sometimes the smaller, better player in college is the lesser player in the pros.

ramsay isn't a "safe" pick unless you can plan to shift him off to FS if he fails at CB but he is basically a much better version of Byron Jones.
he can physically compete with anyone but has alot of learning and tuning to do.

i don't think i'd be real excited about drafting him tbh, because i am ready to win now and we have a raw byron jones already... but he is definitely a top flight prospect and legit option (if not a preferred one) at 4.
he is the one guy in this draft that "could be" the next star CB.

prince amukamara isn't a bad comp really.
jalen is an even better athlete as he owns a 40" vertical and is a champion sprinter and long jumper for FSU in track but he is that type of bigger CB.
amukamara would be a nice fit here in Dallas as a FA. if healthy he is a top 15 CB.

if you watch the tape of hargreaves versus Bama you'll see why I say it has to be Ramsay if you want a R1 CB. hargreaves lost every jump ball.
ramsay at 6'1" with a 40" vert is only losing jump balls to the calvin johnson's of the world.

if you told me we had prince, scandrick and ramsay next year at CB I'd be quite content to see Mo and Carr move on. --not happy because someone will get a much better Mo tan we ever did but content that we'll fine at CB.

The team will never draft a QB at 4th overall with the intent of Romo playing another 3 years.

The only logical method of taking a QB that high is if you trade Romo and go full rebuild, like the Colts did. Teams don't spend top 5 picks on an insurance policy at QB.

first, not sure dallas thinks romo has 3 more years. they may hope or wish but you don't draft based upon that.
they've admittedly considered QB a couple of other times and passed but they admit it is time to seriously consider it.

right now, today, the guy at 4 is your starter. romo hasn't even had the next surgery yet....

i know they aren't playing any games games today but romo is almost certaily never going to go through a full week of practice again.
you have plenty of reps for a kid.

you don't want fool's gold to develop. it is pointless to waste 3 or 4 years on a guy who lacks elite skills and hope he turns into something special.
you gotta believe your guy uis worthy a top 5 pick whether you use it or not.
Romo was. Henson, Chutch, QCar were not.

QBs are VERY hard ot ocme by and you can't pick the time you get one. It doesn't work that way.
Not having a legit post Aikman QB cost us a decade of futility.
You simply can't do it.

romo may be saying he has 3 or 4 more years untilt he day he announced his retirement.
troy had zero plans to retire himself.
jerry made him retire based upon doctor's advice.
a year before he retired anyone would have told you he had 3 or 4 more good years left.

Smart teams do..Ask Green Bay when a prospect that everybody thought was a System QB. Fell into their laps.. And I know he wasn't picked top 5. But he should of been.

I really don't understand the Tunsil talk. "Best Player Available" eventually has to have a limit based on your current needs. You don't spend a Top-5 (or even Top-10) pick on a guy who will play RT. Plus, good luck trying to re-sign all of them. I'm not going to "rent" Tunsil for his rookie contract only to lose him to another team who will pay him big money at LT before he even reaches his prime.

If he's there then you have to trade down because the suitors will be there.
