Really only three options at 4

Has that ever happened to a team before? If the clock runs out, do they lose their pick?

the next team *can* turn their pick in, once the time expires.

but it's a funny situation, teams use to take just about the entire 15 minutes for picks, but if a team lets their time expire, the next team is usually ready to pick right then and there.

My options

1.) Carson Wentz- I do like his game slightly better than Goff's, even though I'm convinced Goff goes first.
2.) Jared Goff- If Wentz goes #2, almost assuredly means Goff is available.
3.) Trade down- If someone trades up and both these two QBs are gone, I trade the pick.
4.) Paxton Lynch- If we trade down and are still ahead of the Rams, I target Paxton Lynch.
5.) If we screw up and trade down too far, I'd target a defensive player, maybe an A'shawn Robinson if he's still available.

In my opinion at least. Listed in no particular order

QB
Tunsil if he slide
Trade back

QB: Wentz or Goff
Bosa
Trade down

I don't want a DB or LB at #4. Tunsil is an elite player but will probably go in top 3.

What I've seen of Lynch doesn't knock my socks off for selecting him at #4.

Me either. And most recent mocks have him dropping to the middle of the first, to the Eagles or Rams. Some have him dropping to the Texans in the early '20's.

Tunsil is the easiest of any to justify. BPA. Doesn't get any easier than that. I'll gladly take 5 all-pro offensive linemen. And I am sure Romo would be concur. So would the RBs. This year is probably Free's last year. Draft Tunsil and the running game becomes king. Teams that can run on a consistent basis win. Teams that can run on 3rd and 3 and 3rd and 4 win championships. Give me a line of Smith, Collins, Fredbeard, Martin, and Tunsil and I think we will pound the opposition into submission. We would own the 4th quarter and teams wouldn't be able to stop the run even when they knew it was coming.

you must have loved those 4 wins.
that's what the best OL in football got us.
doesn't matter one iota how good the OL is if they have no QB to protect.

once you have built a great OL you must follow that with skill position players of note so ALL benefit.

taking tunsil would literally be goofy.
you have 100 mil LT and do not need and can't afford a 30m RT.

Jmo, but people are going to look back and wonder why Ramsey was a top prospect.

this is a popular take but...
i am going to guess those folks haven't watched much of him on tape.

he is easily the best press man corner in this draft imho. EASILY.
and he is the best free safety based off 2014 tape almost universally.

he can actually man press guys who weigh 210 pounds.
hargreaves can't.

both show that over and over and over on tape.

issue for dallas is fit. we play more zone than press.
paying for ramsay at 4 and using him in zone would basically be Mo 2.0.

ramsay does have flaws to his game but keep in mind he played CB for ONE season.
he was insanely good given that lack of experience at the position.
he reminds me very much of pat peterson.
long and athletic and explosive.
might take 2-3 years to hit upper echelon starter.

prefer to take him at 7-8 area.

the problem is, he's not likely to turn into a guy that forces a bunch of turnovers. I don't recall tons of passes bounces off his hands, which tells you, he either lacks the instincts to break on a pass, or the closing speed/burst needed to do so. I do not see Patrick Peterson when I watch Ramsey, to be honest, I see Prince Amukamara, who heading into that draft was highly touted, but began to fall.
