That's what I don't get about the complaints. When you run the ball and lose 2 or 3 yards on first-and-10, it's difficult to keep running it on second-and-12. There were a few times when you could say we should have run it on first-and-10 instead of passing it, but if you run it on EVERY first and 10, you become entirely too predictable.
So when the run isn't working, are we just supposed to keep running the ball on second-and-11, third-and-11, second-and-14, third-and-14, third-and-7, second-and-10, second-and-13, third-and-13, second-and-12 and third-and-17? Those are all situations we faced during the second half -- all within our first 25 plays before our final possession. Along with 10 first-and-10 plays, we were almost always in long-yardage situations throughout the second half.
I agree, although the ones we did try in the second half didn't work as well as the ones we ran in the first half.
