RECAP: Czarkecki on GAC *Merge*

Verified by what, the crux of the story was proven wrong and it's easy to see he was just guessing and throwing crap against the wall.

Yep. Clearly everyone in the locker room was locked in a Woodstock embrace, singing Joan Baez songs.

The crux was that TO (and the other wrs) slammed into Garrett's office, demanding a meeting because they were mad about Romo and Witten...

How'd the truth turn out again? Oh yeah, not even close to that.

Uh-huh.

Care to elaborate?

That WAS the story, remember?

No, I don't care to elaborate on your interpretation or on what you deem to be "the crux of the story." Roll with it.

OK, which part of the story did he "get right"? I mean other than the fact that TO, Romo and Witten play football for the Dallas Cowboys...

I don't have time for this. Apparently you still think nothing happened to create a locker room mess to which several players have publicly referred and to which, at this point, even Owens has referred. If you are still in that place, there isn't anything useful to be gained from attempting to discuss anything with you.

Actually, the players and TO have referred to the STORY, not what was in it.

Here's to hoping that you will never experience deja vu of a very specific kind. :wink2: :)

I don't ever take it that seriously. In that respect, I guess I am very much like wonder boy Romo. ;)

anyone with an ounce of common sense realizes that something is wrong with Garrett

Oh. No doubt. He clearly believes he is better than he is. Hopefully the humble pie will be enough to set him on the right track and lead to some improvement. What else do we have to hope for in these days of "continuity"?

I think there was also a lot of consensus late in the year that RW11 was off the reservation with his routes. Aikman even called him out in the last Philly game......

I believe it was Aikman that blamed the INT Romo threw at him on Roy Williams, when it had everything to do with Romo tossing it up, while falling on his back, because he had blitzers in his face... I guess Crayton also forgot how to run routes as well, right, despite playing in the same system last year...

Roy being off on his routes wasn't a consensus, but unsubstantiated hog-wash. It was another perpetuated myth...

I guess one has to assume all the WRs run wrong routes and don't practice, instead of blame Garrett...

So I guess Troy was sticking up for his old buddy Garrett?

If you heard the interview on the radio, the implication Czar was making was that TO was at least part of the source of this. Maybe he didn't come out and say it, but that was his implication.

Now maybe that was based on something as flimsy as TO causing problems at other stops... I don't know. He never gave a source and no, he never explicitly said that TO said it. But that is what Czar was getting at.

I'd think people should be mad at him if they want to... Not posters who are discussing it.

And this is the crux of the issue.

It is unprofessional to imply or hint stuff like this.
You write an article to either report or opine not just imply.

This guy may have a great rep but this was a crap job period.

The people who gobble this up quite simply are guilty of using no intellect whatsoever in the reading.

And again, it is clear, T.O. is hardly a great teammate and has certainly made life difficult for offensive coaches and his quarterbacks but some things are a stretch.

No one was calling T.O. a racist when he said if the Eagles had Favre instead of McNabb they woulda won the Super Bowl were they? T.O.'s fisticuffs in
Philly were with a black player. His agent and confidant is white.

Terrell is a lot of things but it is hard to paint him as a race-baiter.

He called him a liar because he knew was part of the story and knew what happened.

Slanderous? I guess we'll see what shakes out because I doubt Werder sues, not because he likes TO but because he knows he was lying...

T.O. explained this to Deion on ESPN of all places. Said he felt Werder was lying because he used a source that he "knew" was lying.

Deion was as good in that interview as GAC was with Czar... both just let the guys in question say what they want without explanation at all. Howard Cozell probably rolled over in his grave after each interview.

He has done so quite a lot.

But Roy Williams did run crappy routes. That was easy to see in games. He rounded things off and chopped his steps like an 8th grader would. It is pretty clear he had foot issues.

Plantar Facsiatis is really tough to play through and especially in a position where you put so much weight on your feet.

The only reason we are bombarded with stories like these and ones savaging Romo, Witten and even the charter pilot is that these hack pieces of crap know that the some in Cowboy fandom WANT to hear these things after a miserable season. They know they can print whatever they want and a good portion of the fanbase will lap it up without any evidence.

It's pretty sickening...

There is no evidence TO called Garrett a racist that is for sure. But it is not far fetched to think that the current rift in the locker room led to speculation in the St. Louis media that Garrett couldn't handle black players and is therefore responsible for the rift and that this idea ultimately led to the decision by St. Louis management to hire Spagnulo instead of Garrett. I thought that was the point of the original article? It would irresponsible to report that TO is the origin of that sentiment w/o evidence, but there is nothing wrong with speculating on what might have gone down in St. Louis.

The issue is just that.

Was he speculating or not? It is completely unprofessional not to say. By implying it is a fact you are doing more than just stating an opinion. The title is stated as a fact and then each part of the story thus gets dumped at T.O.'s feet as if proven to be true.

What I know is this: This Czar guy gets more play for this story which was crap from a professional standpoint than he has for any story all year to the best of my knowledge. So we apparently reward poor performance and shock jock journalism more and more.

To provide a difference scenario Babe bashed T.O. all to pieces but he did so stating his opinions and clearly that was what he was doing. He didn't lay anything out out there and didn't try to create boogey man stories. He simply said T.O. tore apart locker rooms and needed to go.

You really do have to be dense to believe T.O. effected the fan base in St. Louis to the extent they wanted Garrett scratched off the list. If anything it was the St. Louis sportswriters writing about how poorly Garrett had done this season. Call me the crazy one but I tend to believe the St. Louis area fans read and hear what their local guys say a heck of a lot more often that they do NFL rumors supposedly started by T.O. who I'd guess half the St. Louis populace considers a malcontent anyways.

T.O. is a mess but right now he is "our mess" and if you are going to bash members of the Dallas Cowboys I am going to defend them from the utter banal rantings of attention starved writers/talking heads and the caterwauling squawks of frustrated fans who forget to pack any iota of logic into their arguments.

I'm starting to hate this team so bad... i dont mean the Organization i will always love the Dallas Cowboys but i mean the players and coaches!!! Most of them are so soft, clueless, and have a pathetic self righteous attitude. This whole mess is gonna take a long time to fix IMO...

My whole issue with this is we're in a league where between 3/5 to 2/3 of every team is black players, with almost all of the receivers being black, and the majority of QBs and Offensive Coordinators being white. The receiver position has long been the ultimate diva position and when he's not getting the ball and isnt mature enough to handle the situation the right way, certain things are gonna come up.

Once again, I dont see in the article where any of those involved ever brought up race being an issue, but to say someone's racist cause they're buddy buddy with someone the same race as they are, then the vast majority of this country is racist. Cause last time I checked, most white people are friends with mostly white people, and most blacks are friends with mostly black people. That makes them racist?? Especially when you factor alot of football players come from the South where racial barriers are still a little more significant than in other regions.
