How do we know Rice can in the pros, though? He's not even 200 lbs.

Yeah, Rice did it in college... But he didn't have McFadden in front of him, either.

I've not seen anybody who does not believe that Rice or Forte could not be a 20 carry back but I suppose that there is a possability that there are those who may.

Having said that, the difference here would be that your not spending a 1st round pick on either of these backs so even if that were the case, it would not be as difficult to address and fix. It's much easier to aquire another back if your investment is a 3rd or 4th rd pick, as opposed to a 1st rd pick.

Please show me a reputable mock draft where this occurs. I haven't seen any. The only team I see linked to Felix Jones is Dallas. That says that he may not be 1st round worthy to the rest of the league to me.

But again, I guess my opinion is 'stupid'.

whats a reputable mock? something you or Theo did?

I've seen plenty of them out there where Jones goes somewhere else...if he's such a sucky back, why is he universally regarded as a 1st rd pick?

And where do all the 'consensus' mock drafts have him going?

To Dallas - and only to Dallas.

If he's a 'consensus #1', why is it that the only team who thinks that is the Cowboys?

Seem contradictory to me.

is the only thing you read mock drafts? look where everybody has him rated, do you believe they all put him there becuase the only teams scouts they asked about him were at Valley Ranch?

come on man

Okay, I see what you're saying. I thought you were saying that Felix couldn't do it, but those two guys could.

One from someonoe I've actually heard of.

Maybe one of the 'consensus of experts' who all feel Jones is '1st round material'?

Show me one of those guys who havee him going anywhere but Dallas.

Thanks for the post, IR. The bit about Alexander is interesting. He could be the insurance the team would need -- and who knows, he might revert to his good years.

:star:

No thanks, I pass on Shawn "soft as downy" Alexander.

I would rather have keep JuJo, at least he tried and just sucked. Mr. Downy doesnt even try, I watched Alexander his last couple of games for Seattle and the dude was either looking to go to the ground at the first sign of contact or he was diving for the out of bounds.

I was thinking what the hell is wrong with this guy, he needs to grow some stones and man up.

Here's a mock that has Felix going to San Diego:

TSN has him rated the 11th best player in the draft now...go pick up this weeks USA Today Sports Weekly, a few of their mock draft guys have other teams picking Jones in round 1..quote from Dr Z in CNNSi today "Every draftnik with a pencil is predicting Jerry Jones will turn to his alma mater, though an 8.7 yards per carry leads me to believe this guy could be long gone. Dallas could also package its two picks to move up for McFadden, or take Oregon's Jonathan Stewart.", ever heard of Peter King? does he count? he has Jones going to San Diego...I dont have Insider access to ESPN for McShay or Kipers mocks...every CBS mock had us taking Jones at 22, but interestingly one had us taking Chad Henne at 28, the other two had us taking Kelly or Sweed at 28...

I jsut think its pure idiocy for people to suggest he's only a 1st rd pick, and rated that way by virtually every draft guru and guide ONLY because Dallas might take him the first rd...why does Gosselin have him ranked 21? did he only talk with Jerry Jones on his top 100?

Because Miles Austin is already outstanding at returning kicks. He is in the top 3 or 5 in return average.

he had some huge ones last year that helped us win alot of games.

Just because you say it over and over again, doesn't make it true.

According to NFL.com, Austin ranked 23rd in yards per return.

Of course, some only had a handful of returns.

So, of those with 20 or more returns, Austin ranked 9th.

The same 'idiocy' to blindly think he's worthy of a 1st round draft pick because others say so?

I'm forming my own opinion.

I'm not claiming I'm right or everyone else is wrong. And I've stated that.

I'm also not blindly following the thinking of others.

Norm said he has some good info. He was speculating the first round might not bring a wr, rb or cb! He also said he expects a trade of some sort with miami tomorrow! For picks, not taylor.
The more I think about it,I can see them trading out at 28 to the Phins for their second round and maybe their 4th. I know Jones is going to look to get that 4th back that he gave up for Jones. Just a thought:D

Top 10 is still very very good. That being said I would love to see a rotation of Austin, Stanback, and Jones/Johnson fighting it out in TC.

Austin got coaught by too many kickers and would have been top 2 if he can get that little wiggle to get by them.

And if memory serves, wasn't one of the reasons Stanback was drafted was to return kickoffs?

Does it seem odd to anybody that Jones is ranked at 22 on everybodies board but there is wide disparity at 28?

I think that's because most people expect Dallas to trade out. All the rumors I've read today suggest they expect Dallas to move the pick.
