Norm just said they had some Cowboys rumors to report on. I have to leave the office, so I hope someone can catch what he says and post it here. Thanks.

EDIT: Recap Added...

:
  • This is an alternative approach on a plan for the Cowboys. What if the Cowboys traded both #1's in SEPARATE deals.
  • Consider the type players you get in trades. Old guys. A guy that has played his way from fringe status to very good and wants a big pay day. Knuckleheads. Teams with depth at a position. Players that don't fit a new system being installed.
  • WR, DB and RB are the main positions the Cowboys need. Draft choices many times need a year to work in to the lineup; especially small ones.
  • Knucklehead factor. Later #1 for Deangelo Hall. Hall is a cocky knucklehead. Arrogant is the right word for him. He's not a criminal mind you, but he is arrogant. He would take a #1 draft pick if they want to move him. He's 24 years old and has spent four years in the NFL. He's the youngest player ever to intercept a pass in the NFL. He is a lock-on cover CB and has good skills. He is 5'10" 200 so he's not a whippet. He is a knucklehead but Hall would become the best CB on this team; no offense to Terrence Newman. Hall is dangerous in the open field and an outstanding punt returner. If you could secure him with a late first and you may could, you would have a lock down CB on one side and and a very good one on the other with Henry as the nickel. You have to determine two things. Is he worth the trouble and can you get him for a late first. He is younger now than Newman was when we drafted him.
  • The other #1, the higher one and maybe something else to the Lions for Roy Williams; perhaps a fourth. A young established star in this league. Williams is approaching the last year of his contract and they are deep at WR. They need draft picks to rebuild.
  • Williams is ready to step in and be your 1a WR and Hall is ready to step in and be your #1 DB. With Henry then at nickel you have a very formidable defensive backfield. Hall and Williams are Pro Bowl players right now. I would never trade draft picks like this unless you are in the situation like Dallas who has every right to think they are a SB contender.
  • Then you could maybe pick up a player like Derrick Ward in FA. Ray Rice or Kevin Smith should also be around with the second round pick.

What station is this on? I don't guess I've ever listened to it.

WFAN in NY! :laugh2: Norm is on theticket.com

I turned it on as soon as I saw this thread at about ten after, and there hasn't been any Cowboys talk so far.

He's back to taking mav questions, but mentioned trading both first in separate trades. Possibly moving up with 22 and down with 28 is what I got from it.

Tony and Jessica went shopping at the Gap. Film at 11.

another teaser at the break... says it is coming up next.

He claims that next he's going to talk about trading our #1s in two separate deals.

Get ready for some crazy stuff.

so, trade 22 and our 1st in next year's draft, possibly w/ another pick, to move up, and trade out of the 1st to recoup next year's 1st?

I wouldn't mind that

We'll see, but I think he is just talking about moving up into the teens to secure either a rb or cb. I would side on the cb at that area. Cromartie, Jenkins, or McKelvin.

that would make sense

if we could trade 2 1sts, and a 3rd to move up to get McFadden, would you do it?

How is this a Rumor? Norm is messed up!!! How can the Cowboys know what they are going to do in the 1st round with the 22 and 28 pick when the Dolphins don't even have a clue what they are going to do yet. Norm is just getting people to listen to his show by saying he has Cowboys info!!
