Does anybody know when we will know if 2010 will be uncapped? That's the only way we would afford to have those 2.
The owner's meetings are March 30th through April 4th.

ANYONE that thinks Hall is even close to Newman is not worth listening to.

I mean, there's never an elite player drafted in the 20s or later, right?

Trading 2 1st and a third to move up for McFadden is more ridiculous than what Norm suggest IMO. Just so you guys now that probably is worse than What Ditka did for Ricky Williams in a point value mode.

they traded every pick they had in the draft that yr for Ricky Williams, other than Mike Lynn, you just dont get any dumber than that, its not even comparable to what we might have to do for McFadden

trading two picks in the 20's and a late 3rd rd pick is not a bad deal for an elite prospect like Darren McFadden, who is FAR AND AWAY more gifted than Ricky Williams was, and is nowhere near the arse clown he was

The podcast is up on the ticket.com.
Hitzges conviently forgets what kind of impact signing Hall and Williams will do to our cap situation. It ain't gonna happen.
He also must watch to many highlights on ESPN...Hall is better than Newman???
He may have more int's but how many more tds does he give up than Newman?
Hall is overrated in my opinion.
Is he better than Reeves and Henry??? Yeah, but that does not make him great or would it make him the best cb on this team? Not as long as Newman is still here.

If the Salary Cap goes away theoretically you could sign both players to 5 year 50 million dollar contracts. With lets say 15 dollar signing bonuses. Stucture the contracts for about 2 million a year for the first two years. If the salary cap goes away for a year or two convert the rest of the money into signing bonuses. and pay off the contracts. Hummm. Jerry is going to have plenty of cash because of the new stadium and i'm sure he's on some committee that has insight to the salary cap situation.

This speculation seems like salary cap fantasyland to me. I suppose anything is possible, but this sounds HIGHLY unlikely. I think we go into draft day standing pat. We'll see.

What station is this on? I don't guess I've ever listened to it.
Better question...

what planet is he on?

I love this idea but I don't see 1/2 of it happening, let alone both moves.

I strongly disagree about Hall supplanting Newman as our best DB - but overall?

This would be a killer haul for Dallas. They would immediately become odds-on favorites to win it all.

Hall would cement the CB position as a serious strength... and Roy Williams? It's almost unfair. I could easily see Owens with more TDs on significantly fewer receptions.

With Hall and Williams you automatically know what you've got. No learning curve. No "bust" potential. Instant starters who provide quality depth and a significant upgrade to their respective positions.

Snag a Jamaal Charles in the second round to back up the Barbarian...

The rest of the league will be left to quote Bill Paxton in "Aliens": "Game over, man - game over!"

The real question is, when will the dirty fight that will ensue between the owners and the PA will take place?

If the owners opt out, that will happen after the 2010 season. The CBA would be in force through that season.

Roy Williams yes...but if Norm thinks Hall is an upgrade over TNew he is not watching enough football and certainly not enough Falcons football.
I would have MAJOR problems with that move for so many reasons...not the least of which is that signing that over-rated loudmouth is going to cost alot of money very soon...like next year soon. You cannot count on an uncapped year....no thank you.

My biggest issue with it is that a move for Hall is Jerry announcing that he's taking a serious one year shot at having the corners to get to the Superbowl because by years end there is no way he can possibly resign both Hall and Newman when their contracts are up.
